Everyone gets caught on the pet tanking when it comes to beast master but if the pet is a part of you (as in the weapon, no more than buttons and commands) then technically it is still a beast master with no delay or lag like in Summoners/Scholar pets. Least that is how I see getting around the whole deal or worry, the new weapons simply being a new pet or the chain/link that binds you to the pet. Like stance wise when the weapon is out the pet is in front and on guard/ready where as put away he/she walks by your side like a loyal pet.

    That would be the Morpher!

Morpher (めたもる, Metamoru?) is a job from Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. Only for the nu mou, Morphers take the forms of captured monsters in the Monster Bank. When morphed, they can use all of the abilities the monster has in battle. The effectiveness of the Morpher will depend on the stats of the monsters in the bank.
Actually I liked how you had to use cross class abilities to capture the monsters! Only Hunters could.

For a Morpher to learn anything, they need to procure souls that are dropped by captured monsters. Hunters are the only class that can capture monsters, so it is crucial for the player to have one if they plan on raising a Morpher. Once a monster is captured, its Soul is automatically added to the inventory and then is able to be equipped to the Morpher.
Once a monster is in the Monster Bank, the player can then start raising it by feeding it items.
