So? I'm speaking generally. And day one or day one hundred, my point still firmly stands: if your blind run starts to negatively impact the rest of the group but you refuse to take advice, you're just being an asshole. There are 23 other people in the group and I'm positive not all of them want a blind run or appreciate having to waste time on easily avoidable wipes because the one guy who didn't want to listen kept getting marked for mechanics.

To reiterate, since apparently I wasn't clear enough: Blind runs are fine to an extent, but the moment you start to negatively impact the rest of your group you maybe should get over yourself and let someone explain the mechanics.

With this character's death, the thread of prophecy remains intact.

I really don't understand this concept.... sure I like figuring things out, but when you're with a "matched" group of people it's normally just an all around better idea to know what's going on in the fight. When it comes to DF you can't help who you're matched with, so if you want to play a certain way it's going to be a safer bet to PF or premade the content. If everyone is brand new to the content and no one has been informed on strats, then by all means let's enjoy figuring it out together. On the other hand, if someone does tell the strats, don't vilify them for wanting a successful run. Some people like coming prepared, while others like to wing it. Neither side is better than the other since we all have to actually experience it one way or another.

I think that it is nice to go in blind to new fights, but if you wipe on a fight then it is completely fair to have the fight explained. As someone said earlier, different people have different perspectives, so it's called coordination to defeat your common foe.

When people unsolicited explain mechanics for content which is only a few hours old it's excessive. I'm not going to fault villifying in that case. If you go into new content, do not expect perfect runs. Let people experience the fight for themselves because not everyone can be online and running new content the moment the servers come back up from maint.

Blind runs are fine, but there's no need to be a pain In the butt. I like blind runs(I'll never watch a video, screw that) but getting a few pointers ruins nothing.

Exactly, the opportunity to experience the content without spoilers should not be reserved only for those who are able to log in and queue within the first hour of servers opening.

Be considerate, if you don't want to be part of someone else's learning experience then don't do it on day 1 when everyone is still learning.

It doesn't matter how you rationalize it, whether you have limited time or don't want to wipe, it's day 1.

This. It's the best of both sides. When problems happen, you can give advice or come up with a strategy to clear. If the same player(s) keeps doing the same thing despite that advice, then that's really what a Vote Kick should be for (or an Abandon). But there isn't a need to explain mechanics straight off the bat. Do a pull and see how it goes.

If you want complete control over the random people you are going to do content with, then Party Finder is far more successful at achieving that. Obviously, with 24-man content this is much less useful. But it's not like the success of 24-man content is inherent upon every single player performing the mechanics. It is possible to clear it with less.

Or how about this: If your inability to handle some wiping on the first day or two starts to negatively impact the rest of the group but you refuse to take advice, you're just being an asshole. There are 23 other people in the group and I'm positive some of them have their experience ruined by someone spoiling the fight for them because some people can't let them have this one opportunity to figure stuff out by themselves.

To reiterate: explaining mechanics is fine almost always, but the moment you start to ruin the experience from the rest of the group on the first few days of a new patch, you maybe should get over yourself and shut up when being asked to shut up. You'll get to play it your way for all eternity after those few days anyway.

Sadly people who generally go in blind don't learn from their mistake and die to the same mechanic again. People shouldn't be wiping 5/6+ times on a boss with so few mechanics.
