It's pretty much the only day you can expect a blind run. At least give people that one day.

Then simply disable chat. What use is chat to you in the middle of a 24 player raid if you don't want to talk about tactics?

I've heard this sentiment and I disagree with it. Sure, you know what's going to happen but that doesn't mean you still can't enjoy the spectacle of it, the lead up, and the tension as you wait for it to happen.

I understand the thrill of new content and not knowing what to expect. I haven't had the chance to really do any of the new content yet and probably won't for another few days probably. Even tho when I do manage to do it even with people explaining any of the mechanics I'll still enjoy seeing it all, them explaining the boss mechanics just makes the fight less frustrating when you know what to avoid doing. I have been on the front lines before running new content and having to figure out what to do, sometimes we would have wipe after wipe trying to figure out the mechanics. It's not like they're telling you everything about the dungeon like what each boss looks likes and such.

Explaining boss mechanics isn't really much of a spoiler like like it is when people talk about what happens in which ever quest line or msq to people that haven't gotten to those parts yet.

Got kicked from a dun scaith because I explained mechanics.

As much as I understand the desire for a blind run, spending an hour on the first boss because people refuse to figure out the mechanics is a waste of my time.

I would have dropped group and craft for 30 minutes. I have no tolerance for morons.

Don't those people realize they can pf a group with no newbies if they don't want to deal with people on less than 24 hour old content? How inconsiderate.

Waiting a day or so won't kill you.

The problem a lot of veteran players have is that they've gotten so absorbed in their dps epeen, their item level, and their "valuable" time that they forget that they were new once, and that on patch day everyone is new. Above all else patch day is a time for players to apply the skills they were supposed to have learned in previous content, and get real experience for adapting to new content while clearing it before guides are posted. Telling someone what the gimmick is without even giving them the chance to figure it out on their own is kind of like telling a kid that the new video game they got for their birthday is a rental and has to go back the next day. It might not be the worst thing in the world, but it certainly demoralizes you. When you encounter new players even when it isn't patch day, be considerate of the players you want them to be when they reach end game. Good players don't magically happen. They are forged through learning. Just like those of us who clear content when there isn't a guide for it.

When content has been out for quite a while, people knowing it (or getting explanations if they don't) is the normal expectation, and anyone wanting a blind run should say so and preferably get a group together for that express purpose.

In the first few days when brand new content is released, blind runs are the normal expectation, and anyone wanting teammates who know what to expect should be the ones setting up groups for that express purpose.

If it's patch day and you don't like blind runs, either put up a PF, or wait a few days. Either will work.

I woke up at 4:30am just so I can experience new content without people spoiling the fights. I like the thrill of not knowing what will come and being in a group with other people who don't know what they are doing too. Sadly, I had to go out and when I returned in the afternoon my friend and I entered one of the new dungeons, the tank that joined us had ran it before. We kindly asked him for a blind run, but he completely ignored our requests and kept telling us the mechanics. My friend and I tho ended up turning off chat... but just the rudeness of the tank left a bad after taste.
