It's like being told that a character is going to die and now that you know they are going to die, when they have their encounter with X person that suspense is gone because you already know what's going to happen.
I've heard this sentiment and I disagree with it. Sure, you know what's going to happen but that doesn't mean you still can't enjoy the spectacle of it, the lead up, and the tension as you wait for it to happen.
