Weekly Maintenance implies that it happens EVERY week, a few instances here and there do not equal maintenance that happens every week without fail. Those are the ones I'm talking about.
All Worlds Emergency Maintenance (Nov. 2)
(5 day seperation)
All Worlds Maintenance (Nov. 7)
(7 day seperation)
All Worlds Maintenance (Nov. 14)
I'm sure I can find more of this, even longer bouts actually that I recall, if you really want me to.
I disagree because this doughnut sucks.
Okay? Did it taste bad? Does it smell bad? Did it make you sick? Was it even made like a doughnut?
I view anyone as a troll who can't put up a reason what they hear, feel, saw, smell of whatever they're trying to argue.
The just because I say so is never gonna win me over to your side.
So slide 25 and growth implies that managing community greatly controls some work/cost. Which is pretty interesting and inline with some early stuff from Vanilla when they discussed how much subs just covered bandwidth. My apologies.

This is more simpler and on point.
Not directly elated to you, But how does SE inability to provide a sufficient amount of staff a valid argument and be brought up in defense. When my ISP fails to provide what I deem sufficient support I report them to the CRTC and they get warned and fined and generally got better. Because enough people complained.
Semi related (tin foil hat time) this game has some weird design issues. They can't fix somethings, odd things make no sense, somehow out of all the trained professionals in the world they can't get enough staff. Is it because of Play Station support or developers making poor decisions in the past for whatever reason.
The defense towards the OP argument is not about the availability of staff. What we can infer is the amount of computer power it takes to find bugs. I say computer power because I stress that its the software's that run simulations to check the game for bugs not humans. Do you know how exhausting it would be to find the same amount of bugs a system will find in a day through just human testing?
Very.
Even still not all bugs are found, and as someone else mentioned before on this thread. This game has a multitude of servers connecting to the PSN, not just the lodstone/mogstation. What works here may not work on another platform simply put.

Believe me, I wish they'd fixed things like gears clipping or Au Ra horns causing clips on certain head gears.
Or the fact the default naked feet are sandals. Can't imagine swimming IRL with sandals on. Please 4.0 let us have bare feet.

This is how it usually goes in WoW.
Many of FFXIV's 3 hour patches are also incredibly tiny changes with no content added. 24 hour patches are also extremely rare in other games.
I see many lasting more than 1 hour and some on consecutive days.
All he continues to do is post link after link of walls of text that the average reader passing by will not read, that has no explanation at all of why XIV requires longer maintenances than other MMOs. Which I'm guessing is the oh-so-popular obfuscation of information technique employed on the official forums in debates. Post a link, people see you posted a link and might assume you've disproved the person you're debating with.
Did I not post you a guideline to look at? Or would you prefer I not guide you through the sources that I shared.
Something that I see this forum lacks in debates.
Sources. Now when I give one it's being shunned as random junk. Are you for real? lol Or did you really not look at that.

+Just read the whole thing its a great read.
I'm not sure what your point is then. You talk about how often the game is offline compared to others and then go on to provide a link to shows that it's really not offline globally that often, at least not intentionally. Most certainly not weekly even though it may sometimes happen on concurrent weeks.
You mean the misleading WoW link you posted showing a 1-hour maintenance on the 17th? It's only one hour long because it's "activating" content that was added over a several-hour period last week. WoW's average maintenance time is three hours. Their rolling restarts are only about an hour, but that's not the same thing as scheduled maintenance. And please view the link I gave the other person.
Of course people are free to value and spend their money as they see fit, but if they don't want to be judged, they shouldn't come to public forums and make ridiculous threads about wanting 50 cents worth of compensation for scheduled downtime that happens so infrequently, they'd walk away with less than 5 dollars after an entire year even if SE paid out appropriate compensation every single time. I'll also say this to anyone and everyone who spends ~$15 a month on a game, but values 50 cents like it's their last drop of water while they're stranded in the desert: priorities. And it's also not your place to be condescending about the value other people place on their money...[snip]
With this character's death, the thread of prophecy remains intact.
The fact this thread actually reached 10 pages is sad lol.
You guys must be bored since the game is down right now.
(I know. I am too.)
