    4.0 Primal/Trial fights

I think that its time to rethink the loot for primals/trials. When the first 3 original primals came out they offered accessories that were on par with the current raid. It gave an extra option and a bit more choice for gearing.

Now both King Moggle Mog and Shiva gave accessories but they both were 10 ilvls lower than the current raids they were patched with. I understand they want the highest ilvl to be raiding but the primals/trials are basically the next level down in difficulty. Also it would make gearing a bit more interesting. Having 3 options instead of just 1, 2 when they release the tome gear upgrade items. (forgot about Ramuh and his ring... WHOOPS)

I mean when Bismark and Ravana EX were released they were DOA in terms of usefulness. So maybe in 4.0 we can start to see some accessories that are on par with the current raid again? I feel like it will make things more interesting and not so vertical as it is now.

    I suppohhrt this!
I think many people already feel tired of the current stagnant forms of gear progression, so ANYTHING that changes things up would be nice at this point.

I seriously hope they do this. Or take a page out of WoW's book and implement something like mythic+ or other forms of progression for non raiders. Tome grinding gets very old, as does doing the same non-challenging thing week after week (normal alexander). At least with the higher levels of mythic+, the weekly affixes change the way you approach the dungeon and keeps the dungeons a little bit fresh.

I rather see primals drop stuff that isn't just gear or mount related. Once you obtain those items you have no need to do them anymore, if they added nonsellable housing items it would give them even more longevity, like if the Sophia miniature figurine was able to be obtained by clearing the fight. Really gear is so replaceable you'll likely drop whatever piece you get almost immediately, and mounts, well unless you use random, typically people only use their favorite one. Adding music to the loot pool helped revitalize some content, so I don't see why they don't further expand what is obtainable via drops.

I agree that Primals need to be spiced up a bit. Right now there are only two incentives for doing it- bird and a filler weapon until you can get the tome weapon (which is 10 levels better before it's even upgraded). And on that note, taking another page out of Shiva's book, it wouldn't be a bad idea to make them upgradable through primal tokens, so they -would- be on par with those weapons, albeit briefly. Putting relevant accessories back into them would be a step in the right direction, at least. Because Twelve forbid any left side gear drop from something other than the endgame raid, right?

It's about time that SE & some players realised that many (most?) people cannot do the top tier raids even if they wanted to. The reasons are many & varied. I have no doubt that lots of those who don't raid have the ability to clear such content but circumstances prevent it.

I understand that raiders need the better gear for progression & I certainly don't begrudge them it but there needs to be a balance struck in some way.

It would be nice if the primal weapons can get transformed to unique materias (no stats, but unique effects, can only meld in a single gear of the gear set). This way there will be always a reason to farm primal weapons.

Correction: Less skilled players need the better gear for progression, because raw stat power can compensate for lack of skill to certain degrees. Many people who would never have been able to clear coil when it was recent can do so now in unsynced solely because their gear is much better. Meanwhile, skilled people just did it at the time with less than half the iLvL - they did not need it. And I can foresee the same happening to Alexander Savage in Stormblood.

It's a common fallacy. The truth is that the worse you play, the better stats you need for any given task. Lo and behold, games that do not use stats as a reward frequently simply cut stats on higher difficulties - You deal less damage, get less hookshot uses, recovery time is higher, stamina consumption is higher, you take more damage etc etc. See also: Echo buff. That just goes against the entire reward structure of the game when it comes to stats. It's through vertical progression and unsync that the people who really need the stats eventually get them. (Which people then complain about, but oh well...)

That all said...I wouldn't mind having more viable gear with different stat permutations in general. I don't want a sub 2 second GCD on my ninja, I got lag dammit, that only exacerbates the issue >_>

Its not really about being a raider or end game progression. When we had the first 3 EX fight released there was more variety in what you could get. With 3.0 all we have gotten are weapons with every single primal fight. Im also not really understanding what not being a raider has to do with variety in primal fights?

We're getting accessories in the Omega alliance fight, pretty sure.
Would be nice to have more choices in rings, at least. Ramuh's version was awful at release but once they bumped up the ilvl to something usable they were really nice.
