Carbuncle actually looks like what's it's meant to be a classic Final Fantasy summon in shape and form.
Garuda, Ifrit and Titan are just deformed floating gummy sweets that barely look like what they're meant to resemble.
XIV imo has the worst incarnation of summoner because of this, if I had it my way I'd make each individual summon act like its own ability much like how Yuna summons in the second Dissidia game.

I'm sure there's some people that like the egi's but they don't do it for me. :c

Yeah the other egis leave something to be desired. I'd still like a Shiva egi because she is my favorite summon from the series. I also have to admit that I agree with you on XIV having the worst incarnation of Summoner. However it's the dots that ruin it for me. I wish it was more about pet commands. It really just feels like WoW's warlock to me. I know that some people like that though so to each their own.

They were, and the original intent was to add glamours for additional Egis. However, in order to do that, they have to also create new animations for every ability so that you don't have Shiva using fire attacks. I think it's more work than they want to invest on one job simply for visual appeal.

It's much easier to implement Carbuncle and keep existing animations for the time being. At least it's something for now.

The problem is more to do with the semi-monochrome glowing skins which lack contrast of the Garuda and Titan egis defusing the outlines of their models at the zoom out distances normally played at.

Titan-Egi isn't to bad close up but the yellow glow overpowers details such as its hair and distinct limbs to the point that most only see a "yellow mcnugget".

Garuda's model has some fairly nice details up close but lack of contrast means that only her floating green wings are noticeable when zoomed out.

Since when? All they ever said since launch was that they were working on it, at best saying they hoped to have it ready by 3.4.

League of Legends changes aesthetics for entire champions, it's silly that we can't do the same for this game's pets.
