So the new Egi Glamour system?

So we are finally getting the Egi-glamour system, took awhile right? But there was one thing I noticed about it in the preliminary notes. It says that the glamous wont be visible in PvP areas. Now for the moment I guess that isn't that bad since the glamous we have are only surface glamours. But I would hope that would change once more Egis become available, as well as the attack animations, since Shiva doing wind attacks doesn't seem right.

Anyone have any thoughts?

it is one of those "fair play" things, along the same vein of why glamours don't show in pvp (least I don't think they do haven't notice/checked) For example a green carby doesn't run up to you and ifrit stun you etc.

they have egi-glamour disabled just because any egi-glamour can be added to any egi and in pvp that is a disadvantage for others, since they don't know what egi it is, so i don't think egi-glamour is going to be added or we summoners or scholars have a advantage in pvp

In fairness, they take great care that you can still see at a glance which champion it is, by keeping their distinct posture and silhouette intact.

Plus...honestly, when a development team tries to push Ranked into a game in which like 95% of the playerbase doesn't even play PvP in the first place, you should expect their decisions regarding PvP to be a little hard to penetrate with common sense.

Even with entirely different outfits, characters in LoL have a much greater glance value.

Meanwhile in FFXIV, you can have a potato in a moogle costume, an amazon wearing full black metal plate, a petite woman with a maid outfit, and catboy wearing nothing but booty shorts all doing the same job.

You still know what Champion you are playing against. Egis are 3 entities, a player could take the 3 carbuncles and mix-match them in such a way to confuse the target as to be unaware to which one they actually have out. That's the issue, it creates an unfair advantage of changing it's visual appearance and having to rely on the text name to know what pet is out(If it doesn't also change the name of the pet). For all we know when you have Garuda set as Topaz Carbuncle it will say "Topaz Carbuncle" and the pet and not "Garuda"
