Then you simply tick off those of us who have no interest in Hildibrand but crave some sort of side quest to tackle. With that said, though, tying the Scholisticate to Hildibrand - however subtly - was an unfortunate decision. I would have liked to see more time spent on TWT storyline though. Azyz Lla got the short end of the stick, arguably.

I disagree vehemently. The only "Tie" between them is one single character, an Investigator of Ishgardian descent who was called back home to do exactly his job, and investigate an issue that was affecting members of his family. And I like that they brought in a pre-existing character to fill this role, rather than make up a new one, because to me it makes the world feel more fleshed out and involved. I like to see characters from different stories come in and play a role in others where it makes sense, as it makes the world feel like a living, breathing place alongside the people who inhabit it.

I may be wrong but I believe you needed to do the Hildibrand quests to access the Scholasticate quests. Even if that's not the case...players aren't going to understand who, exactly, Briarden is or at least appreciate him to his full extent without having done the Hildibrand quests to get to know him. So you don't really get the full experience without having invested in Hildibrand's story.
