I'm divides between wanting to wear the race specific clothes of the other races, and wanting original race specific or universally available gear designed by quest designers like Teletsuya Nomura and the Bravely Default team to artist from other developers. It would be pretty cool to get designs from Monolithsoft too.

    I definitely agree with this.

I've wanted more race specific fashion for awhile, mainly because I liked all of the starting gear for each race. They were slightly similar, yet distinguished. More detailed than the average gear, which I always like.

There are some "all classes" gear that I just refuse to wear because they look hideous. You can't dye that ugly away all the time SE! ;P

    Okay, serious post now.

I want to point out that no male gear can be worn by females. Just because an outfit looks "masculine" doesn't automatically mean it's for males. What is this, the era of pants are only for men? I'm just saying, don't imply it's all when it's very much not. I also wouldn't include veteran rewards because it's a thank you for being a long time player; there's no reason to gender lock it. I, however, won't contend that females do have more fashion locked to that gender.

    Examples of gear labeled ♂:

    Butler set
    Abe's attire
    Valentione Apron Attire
    Southern Seas Vest (both)+
    Yukata (all)+
    Far Eastern Patriarch's Attire
    Far Eastern Garb for Men
    Thancred's Modish Attire
    Cid's Attire
    Thancred's Attire
    Papalymo's Attire
    Urianger's Attire
    Snow's Attire
    Hempen Male Undershirt+
    Male Eternal Bonding Attire (tailcoat)+
    All Male Race Attire (6)
    Moonfire Vest+
    Ti Leaf Lei+
    High House Justaucorps+
    Expeditioner's Coat+
    Uraeus Body Armor+

+ indicates only the top was listed and has more items to the set that are gender locked.

I'm a little torn on this. I like the race gear; it's unique and fits the profiles of the males and females of a given race nicely. Do people just want more race locked gear that's level 1 for glamouring? Adding gear per class, per race or gender sounds incredibly annoying and time consuming. That's not even including the two types per race. I can't imagine the Seekers of the Sun would dress the same as Keepers of the Moon, given the different climes the two have settled. Especially with others chiming in about changing current actual gear for this and not just fashion.

I would just like to have the gear customized for each race to fit their body structure / aesthetic more. Like one piece of armor can have a higher collar to hide the Elezen's giraffe necks when they equip it, or change the details to be simpler and more noticeable when a potato equips it, and PLEASE add some sort of tail opening for our animal people when they equip it. Back in 1.xx they used to have TAIL ARMOR.

    But lazy modelers gonna lazy.

I'd really enjoy seeing more racial gear. Gotta rep your race! Something to have a touch of pride in.

Have to agree. If more costumes are to be added, I want them available to everyone.

I'm not against introducing gear that is themed aesthetically around a particular race and would love that! I just don't want it restricted to one race.

This makes less sense when you think about it. Sure, there is a certain style that each race starts with, but artificially limiting gear styles by race is just plain silly.

Take the topic about the basic hempen set. Are we really supposed to believe that a weaver who has surpassed their guild leaders abilities is incapable of resizing a hempen camisole of a different pattern, say the Elezen version(for example), for a player regardless of size or race? They would be a pretty poor crafter if that was beyond them. There needs to be some common sense applied here.
