And yet, I read that they opened up chat in FrontLines. Seems to me they only restrict it in the Feast. Which is a toxic wasteland the likes of which has never been seen.To be fair, it would be more efficient to allow people to communicate with each other more easily in PvP but simply crack down on trash talking and poor sportsmanship.
The cynical part of me believes that the developers don't want that to happen, though, because it would cost money to hire people to investigate such things and if the players in question ended up getting banned then they'd be likely remove their subscriptions.
Competitive content sadly brings out the worst in a lot of people. There's various ways to mitigate that but...oh well.
Hopefully for this PvP based crossover event we don't actually have to win. That way having chat disabled won't have a major impact if you still walk away with the rewards even if you lose.
