I know unpopular opinion but each expansion set should have their own side story - I was really looking forward to the Scholasticate Questlines but it got so much delayed probably because people were begging for Hildi instead that I totally forgot about it (and I've been looking forward to it so much!). The result are 2 lackluster quest-sets instead of one good one. If I could vote for a returning sidequest to be in 4.0 it'd be the moogle quests giving backstory stories again.

The scholasticate was exciting at first cause it was fresh. I certainly looked forward to it. Then people cried for Hildi and it seems even the devs forgot about the Scholaticate.

I suspect it was less forgetfulness and more they just didn't have time to balance everything. Hildbrand being established meant they wanted to focus on him more. I'm in favor of newer side story arcs myself, if only because I hate seeing good stories become watered down when their creators just have no ideas left but keep trying to force it out.

Just let them stop, while the stories are good. I'd hate Hildi to become the simpsons of FFXIV.
Why? What's wrong with the Simpsons? You meant South Park, didn't you?

Am I the only one who likes the Scholasticate? Sure it could have been better, but it's a nice little story with some real detective work. I for one wouldn't mind if Briardien and Hildibrand both got their own questines in 4.X
But only if the Hildi line is 2.0 level. In 3.0 the content is less, the jokes aren't as funny and the supporting cast is weaker.

I enjoy Scholasticate for it being the side-story digging into life in Ishgard which was the original plan for Scholasticate Storyline. Though I think what went wrong was that they didn't provide what was needed after the emo fest of 3.0 main storyline which was a light heart storyline to let people enjoy and relax from what happened. I also felt that it was lacking something to get the attention of people with the characters as the characters hardly grabbed my interests, not because they were not funny but because they just felt a bit too bland in setting the a proper tone for the storyline. Briardien was probably the only one that stand out to keep the story interesting but the other characters just didn't present what SE was aiming for properly being a Light hearted Side-storyline about the difference in life for Nobles and Commoners in Ishgard and the struggle both side face due to difference in social states.

The first episode just covered too much of what we already seen in 3.0 Main Scenario and the 3.0 side-quest which is another reason why Scholasticate didn't grab as much attention as when Hildibrand was introduced in 2.X.
