If you win the DF lottery, you too can enjoy two healers who barely heal, don't DPS, and eat literally every mechanic in a11. That's half an hour of your life you ain't getting back. Pity the DPS that gets the prey mark cause they aren't going to do anything about it!
God I've lost count of how many times I've died to that... I enjoyed a nice response from one healer though was "It's easier to let you die". Ofc these healers couldn't keep people (or themselves) alive even without a weakness debuff xDIf you win the DF lottery, you too can enjoy two healers who barely heal, don't DPS, and eat literally every mechanic in a11. Ofc I read this as "Mechanics made for my role are too annoying to deal with".
Ooorrrr something I'm coming across alot lately, people actually moving and standing right next to me when I'm main tanking stuff then promptly getting themselves killed with Cleaves/Gazes etc. Had a MNK do this 3 times on Rahmu recently, I said specifically to stay away from me too. It astonishes me...

Maybe they thought you wanted company and were just being tsundere... /jOoorrrr something I'm coming across alot lately, people actually moving and standing right next to me when I'm main tanking stuff then promptly getting themselves killed with Cleaves/Gazes etc. Had a MNK do this 3 times on Rahmu recently, I said specifically to stay away from me too. If they "do what's minimally necessary" then revert back into a bad. At least they'll have the skill set needed to do something. And they may turn it up if they can't be carried.
The other scenario you get someone who is bad and they literally can not turn it up even if they want to for a second cuz they don't know.
If you want to gate content with barriers like the bronze and silver stuff you will lose the players who are not good. But guess what, SE doesn't want to lose players because then they lose money and thats why they nerfed most stuff already.

Add parsers to the game and the DPS players finally have to get their shit together.

Sounds like the OP seriously muddled the message he was trying to convey, by mixing it with the debate on Jump Potions.
What he's really asking for, is some kind of challenge or rite of passage that needs to be cleared before players can engage in endgame activities. Some kind of, "You must git this gud before you can ride this ride." A general purpose Faust.
Jump potions really have nothing to do with it; folks who think it's going to seriously harm the average quality of endgame gamers are dreaming. Heck, if anything, I'd say jump potions may actually INCREASE the proportions of serious hardcores in endgame; many if not most hardcore players I've interacted with have been pretty dismissive of the storyline, and would have been happy to skip it. They're here for the challenging fights, and don't really give a flip about WHY they're fighting. Now there's a way for hardcore endgamers who might otherwise be turned off by the main scenario slog to skip straight to the end.
I don't really think we need to put more obstacles in place of reaching endgame. Endgame has few enough members as it is. That said, I AM in favor of more challenging Main Scenario content. Final Steps of Faith (Normal) was a decent step in that direction. While not a serious challenge by endgame standards, it's not really something a pack of newbies can derp their way through. Just because content isn't "optional" doesn't mean it has to be a cakewalk.
