I can't imagine any situation where a dps would tell a healer to dps when the team needs to be healed or there is high damage going out on the tank.Hold up on that...if the party is fine, then yes I'd definitely be doing DPS.
I'm talking about when they TELL me that I need to DPS when I don't think it's the appropriate time. That's what I mean--not standing around just doing a Harvest Dance or something.
Although admittedly if that actual conversation took place, my reply would be "Indeed--that's what I'm here for. You're here to get the DPS. I'm here primarily to heal and DPS when I see fit. Now, go DPS."
To be absolutely fair, I have seen this happen when someone is impatient with a comparatively undergeared and inexperienced healer and doesn't realize that their hands are genuinely full.
Most of the time, yes, it's the obviously idle healer who gets shade thrown at them.
While I appreciate that some instances can be annoying, I see alot of posts here just moaning about other people and how other people like to play their game. Does a social, multiplayer game, that has different people on it, actually suit you people or would a game with robotic npcs suit you better that always play the same way, YOUR WAY. In life there are always people that do things differently to how you would like them too, if your are always going to rage every time someone doesnt do things the way you think they should then your in for a lifetime of self perpuating rages. Instead I really do think the game would be a happier environment if people were more tolerent of how people want to play. I pay for my subscription the same as anyone else I object to anyone telling me how to enjoy myself. I f I was kicked out of an instance for not playing someone else's way then they would be reported.

Do you honestly believe that your subscription is worth more than everyone else's, that other people enjoy themselves by having to pick up the slack created when people play inefficiently just because that's their playstyle?
Actually, if someone else doesnt like playing with other people's differences then maybe its time to stop playing a social game. Not everyone fits in your 'box'
Or maybe the people who aren't willing to support their team should focus on the solo portions of the game and leave the group content for those who do.![]()
Again you are being selective about who should play on the game. Really, if you dont like other people who dont follow your 'rules' . Then go play something that doesnt have other people on it. I had aguy tell me I was overhealing yesterday in a10s, so what? Am I sopposed to be kicked out the game for that? People who continually finding fault with others playing are ruining the game for people that just want to have fun, and mostly, those that dont moan about other players are more fun to play with, so go play a game that goes round exterminating people ,you may enjoy it more (npcs ofc.) How about grand theft?
I'm sorry but no.While I appreciate that some instances can be annoying, I see alot of posts here just moaning about other people and how other people like to play their game. If, for example, someone is running MCH and they never use Reload because "that's how I play" then I'm going to call them out on it.
If, for example, a healer sits in CS all day and never DPSes and only heals because "that's how I play" then I'm going to call them out on it.
If, for example, a PLD Spams Shield Lob on enemies and wears DEX equipment because "that's how I play" then I'm going to call them on it.
If, for example, a BLM spams only Ice Magic and uses Blizz2 without moving to enemies because "that's how I play" then I'm going to call them on it.
This is a team game, and a game where every class has a set of skills that work, mostly, well together. And being lazy or wanting to be "different" doesn't make you immune to being called on your bad DPS, your bad decisions and your bad choices.

This is not about someone not being a team player this is more about someone maybe believing they are there to heal, because they are a healer and despite people only valuing dps, the game does still need healers. And some dont even know how to stance dance, they may be still learning the game. Your view does not allow for this.I'm sorry but no.

It absolutely is about being a team player. No fight in this game requires a healer who is only there to heal, and believing that is simply false. And since that is not needed - just like joining a fight as BRD to only sing and not do any DPS because they believe they are there to sing and only that - doing that means being a bad team player. However, it's a different matter when someone is trying and learning to be a good team player by playing their job optimally, but they still need more practice and experience of the fight. What people are opposed to is someone intentionally refusing to use their helpful abilities to support their team because of their personal beliefs or whatever.
