I think my problem with this step is that the previous steps felt much more active. This step feels like a treadmill. I'm okay with it taking a lot of time. Just make the journey more entertaining. This step just drags on and on and on.

Well first, the assumption you will need 80 umbrite is not accurate. You will probably need around 70 depending on your luck.

And you're bottle-necked by the Aether Oil step anyways. Unless you're spending lore on Oils which is a terrible idea, it's going to take you 5 weeks of weekly CT quests to finish it.

Like I said in the other topic, as the relic quest line exists now, it takes you 5 weeks to go from nothing to an i260 relic with no real grinding. If you want to put in more work to grind more lore, it's even faster. Compared to the old relic, that's nothing. I think it's pretty reasonable TBH. As long as the next step isn't also a lore grind, the entire quest line is not that bad and can be done simultaneously. The only thing I would change is to make singing clusters and their related quests available to anyone.

I would love to see your calculations for this. I agree that you can start with the ilvl 240 before completing even the first anima step, which would suggest you can collect between 20'000 and 24'000 tomes in 5 weeks?
At 20'000 tomes, that would be 571.4 tomes every day. And that is not a grind? I sure have better things to do than that for 5 weeks straight.

The step should have been nerfed with patch 3.4, because the tome weapon is the actual weapon "with no real grinding". 7 times Alexander (15 mins per week) plus 1000 tomes.

Assuming you do some basic weekly activities like clearing WA and farming out tokens pieces from Alex NM.

That's 100+20+20+20+20 = 180 lore per week.

And three leveling roulettes for the singing cluster weekly quest = 100x3 = 300 lore per week.

~70 umbrite = ~21000 lore
480 weekly lore from Alex NM / WA / Leveling roulette over 5 weeks = 2400 lore
21000-2400 = 18600/35 = 531 per day

Trial roulette -- 60 lore -- around 10 minutes for completion
EX-roulette -- 140 lore -- around 14-20 minutes for completion
60-roulette -- 100+X lore -- around 14-20 minutes for completion
Front-line roulette -- 100 lore -- around 14-20 minutes for completion (queue time can be spent doing other daily tasks)
Vanu Beast-tribe -- 45 lore -- around 10 minutes for completion and can be done while in queue
Mentor roulette -- 30+X lore -- can bait a guildhest, trial, or dungeon with lore reward, <5-20 minutes for completion
Daily treasure map -- 0-30 lore

And you'll surely get some bonus lore from random hunts, newbie bonus, and Wondrous Tails.

That totals to at most 1.5 hours per day for 475~505 lore + X from dungeon rewards. If you run as a tank or healer, all those queues aside from PvP are instant. On my data-center, PvP queue during prime time is also <5 minutes.

If <1.5 hours per day feels like a grind to you... well... I don't know what to say. The relic probably isn't for you.

Thank you. That's exactly what I call a big, fat, ugly and very uninteresting grind.

Your estimate of less than 1.5 hours for all these activitites a day is also way off. Not to mention that you can't collect the singing clusters through the weekly quest when you're not on the ilvl 260 quest.
And don't forget collecting all the atmas for the first step within those five weeks.
And don't forget the 10 dungeons that you have to do within those five weeks.
And don't forget collecting the items for the third anima step within those five weeks.
And don't forget the weekly Crystal Tower quest that you have to do within those five weeks.

Running all those roulettes every day for 5 weeks...IS A GRIND. And I seriously doubt it's getting done in 1.5 hours per day
