That always confuses me too lol. They are male playing a female character yet want a female playing a female character, I never understood it.

I know it seems weird a male playing a female character looking for a another female character who is actually female in real life too but personally I have already been with female characters being played by males so I think it would be kinda nice to actually be involved with an actual girl who is playing as a girl

I am sure most of the girls who play as females in game ask for guys playing as males, I said most because there were and still are a few girls who are OK playing with guys as females and with girls playing as males in game. A good example is Sakkiko. She is a girl playing as female. She doesn't care whether or not the player is a guy or girl, but she is asking the character to be male because she wants her partner be male.

Most of the girls give some type of similar argument. They said they play as females and played with a lot of guys playing a female than they think having a guy playing as a guy would be kind of nice.

Hey, I can understand you (well kind of. It depends do you reflect yourself in game is that why you can't picture the character to be male or you see the character as someone you wanna be with than you can't stand to see the character as male).

Each person has their preferences just remember than you are narrowing down your options. I only suggest to people to remember than it might take longer to find someone so be patient.

From my experience, (male) players usually either want to play

- a character that resembles them IRL

- a character that is everything they are not (these tend to be the edgiest wannabe characters)

- or simply a character that is pleasant to look at (usually depends on the player's sexual orientation).

I, for one, couldn't play as a male character for longer periods of time. Staring at a musclehead or some kind of edgy mancat / lizard would be really annoying.

As for the male players playing a female but still wanting a female partner who coincidentally also plays as a female...
Two are better than one, right?

I suggest to give the alternative. You can change gender to your irl gender if you two start a relationship. Remember no all are bisexuals (which is what you actually need to find since you want to start an online relationship too) or lesbians (well may be you will find one who is OK knowing you are guy) than want to roleplay as that. As a guy x guy pretending to be another gender, is normal. The fantasy is appealing, but you want to cross the line (role-playing is fine but crossing the line is what make things tricky). I remember a thread a girl made.

She said she felt very uncomfortable when her bf started to play as female and wanted to roleplay as such gender. Her reasons given were than she was not into girls and than she wanted her bf to be like his irl gender if he wanted to roleplay.

This was not an online relationship. They both lived together. She knew he was a guy, yet she didn't want to do that. According to the girl, her bf was kind of demanding her to roleplay as female. When she tried to change gender to even the situation. Shr didn't mind reverse her gender to continue with the hetero roleplay, the bf didn't allow her. Saying he wanted a girl not a guy to roleplay with. The thread is somewhere bury. If you wanna know more about her saying and players opinion, you can search for the thread.

I'm a guy playing a female character but looking for a girl playing a male. The femalexfemale desire isn't always the case. I've played both genders in mmos before and this time im a female au ra cause I find that to be the coolest character to me. If warcraft had marriage I can assure you my male panda would be looking for something different.

I never really view my character as a direct reflection of myself.

I think neither he does. What he wants is to explore his fantasy with a girl. I guess he sees himself as the third wheel? If we actually start to analyze what he wants, the outcome will be interesting. The main point in here is that he wants to be female and find a girl playing a female and want him for himself as a male out of game but female in game. He said it. He would want to have a chance to start a romantic relationship.

And about that femalesxfemales. I think the appropriate term would be guyxguy wanna be girls since the majority of players are guys.
