personally I am going to do everything I can before 2.0 cap everything do everything, and when 2.0 is released, Start the game with a new char and experience it all anew, It will be really nice with crafting leveled up on another char already.
You are better donating 41cents a day , 1,8 cents an hour to charity that needs it. Square enix the billion dollar company doesn't need peoples hard earn cash for charity no matter how little it may seems to you.

For Me its not the money it is the timing.
If it was the 1.21 or 1.23 patches id feel more, OK yeah as they add a lot to the game so i would be playing more.
The 1.2 patch to me seems more like a fix or tweak, and doesn't look to add much so i'd be playing less.
What i'll most likely do is sub a month after each patch (to have a look and see the changing world/story an so on), and only stay subbed when there is enough new stuff to keep me going past that month.
Most likely the 1.23 patch in my mind atm.
Edit :
I was planing on saving a class to do that with![]()
Though i kinda doubt i'll actually be arsed to level most of the DoW or get more then 1 DoH to cap lol

A very fair and reasonable stance. For Me its not the money it is the timing.

What if they patch once a month though? Won't you just be paying for the game like normal at that point?
When looking at the roadmap its every 2.x months per patch, and I cant see SE suddenly getting a lot faster with the main patches as well with all the work being done on the new servers.
But yeah then I would be sub'd as normal.
Which would be fine as i would have something new to do its still lack of main/story/fluff content that i feel the game is missing more then anything else.
I'm With yeah Mata!, To see this one-time story that "NO ONE" that's playing the game, just before or AFTER 2.0 will ever get to experience! We will be the ones the epic tale of the Old Eorzea, and how everything came to past. The only thing is... " They will never ever ever ever EVER, get to experience the Prologue to the current Eorzea again."
That alone is worth paying for! And to be strictly honest, this "Prologue" to me is near 100% complete" The New FFXIV is only 50% complete! Thats what I got out of the Message from Yoshi-P. You say you'll be paying for an incomplete game? Well, I say were paying for a "100% complete Prologue" and whats to come is only 50% done!
Eorzean Knights: ( that most of you are saying) will enjoy this Prologue, and be able to tell a tale that will never be able to be experienced, by anyone else but the current players again!
Are you kidding me? I got screwed over by 70$! I payed for the collector's edition preorder. What i got was a game that almost doesn't even exist anymore. I got a game that was voted worst MMORPG release in the last 5+ years. Biggest letdown of all time? Most likely.
Here is what i got for my 70$:
20% finished game
HUGE letdown and disappointment
free trial period for a game's "reconstruction" alpha stage.
A fancy journal with concept art in it and a pass for any friend, for free and a fancy box (<_<) and 2 in-game items.
The game. (which apparently will be available online. . . for free or not they didn't say)
Now, considering ALL the changes made, the FFXIV we know today is NOT the same FFXIV from 2010. No sir.
Now it's up to you to judge. Were my 70$ worth it, or not?

You have stuck around long enough to register on these boards and then come back here in October to post in them. Seems to me you've been around an entire year which comes out roughly to about five and a quarter dollars per month of entertainment. You'd be hard pressed to come up with another form of entertainment that costs so little.
not kidding these sheep act like this is a starving child fundraiser or somthing and SE is broke and about to starve to death..
with all the sheep in these forums asskississng SE every stupid move it no wonder this game was released like this. why they should pay us to play their beta instead of inviting fanboys who ignore the real issues.
