I'm glad they added swimming and diving.
As for the flying mount swimming, from the videos, they look more like simply flying in the water like they do in the air xD

Maybe swimming can unlock a new father job? Hmmm maybeI personally don't like how they are adding swimming. It just seems so wasted compared to flying. Once I get the aether currents what need would I have to go in there beside gathering or being forced to go in there? I just hope they don't invest too much into swimming then in the end its not used much. From what they showed just seems like "hey we have swimming now! for reasons!". I am glad you can't fight in water but any game which has swimming ended up just being a waste and never done right. Which is why most games not don't invest much into swimming now... it's just not worth it for a way of travel.

People don't know how to take criticism anymore, and bad play is rewarded with with a coddling mentality. Yes, this is a casual game for the most part - that doesn't mean people need to walk on eggshells in fear of getting reported for pointing out things. This whole 'please don't say anything even slightly negative' mentality that we seem to be going towards and the devs seemingly pushing towards it is creating a disturbing trend.
So that means we are not dying when fighting leviathan while drowned?

will i finally be able to swim under the sunny skies of eastern la noscea while marveling at giant man eating crabs slaughtering newbies in the distance?
I'm not upset about certain areas being swim locked For example, here in my home city, you wouldn't just jump into the Seattle bay. If you did that, it'd be cold for one, and two, you'd likely die from under the boats. Propellers, dangerous sea creatures, heavy currents from boats, and natural ocean currents are a thing, If you don't drown first. Some areas just shouldn't be accessible. However, this is a time before a majority of our modern technology. It wouldn't be as bad. We just need to consider where If would be appropriate to swim.![]()
From what it sounds like, we are learning to swim. The drowning during Leviathans fight would still be canon for the time. Technically when we fight Levi, we are having a flashback. You'd still be at risk of drowning.
