I love underwater content in video games, so I'm all for it. I think I got more hyped for 4.0 from that swimming preview then I did the CG trailer and the RDM video combined.

For underwater combat it will tons of work and pain and even so it can miserably fail. You will different skills or heavily reworked the old ones, new animations, new gear, new mechanics and the 3D aspect of the battle will drive you nuts. I'm happy at least we will be able to go inside water.

I hope they'll let us swim in the LB~ I love the waterfall area there, I think the Goblet has one too
Super excited for it.

I think it's a neat little feature but flying will probably remain the main focus of transport.
Do we know the speed of flying under water though? It could be the same speed as swimming. Also if the content is more focused on the Y axis, it may seem frivolous to fly over the destined spot instead of going through vectors. Just like flying is not available on every map, swimming may not be either.

Underwater exploration? Yes please!

I guessed it right with swimming in this expansion!...
Swimming is most welcome because it obviously opens the gates to Blitzball, the best mini-game inside a main Final Fantasy title, it won't be long until they introduce it to Eorzea, I hope!...
I only wish they polish the diving animations because they look a bit stiff and far from being natural, it just looks like they're walking in a really odd way!...
Before you ask, yes, I would have liked breathing mechanics but the Producer already excused himself and the team for being unable or unwilling to do it, not that it would take to much of their resources!...![]()

Blitzball is coming, its coming.

That is actually the dev team's fault, the character models are sadly cheap and they just never bothered with the feet, you can clearly see it when trying out any piece of gear other than shoes, that the character models have sandals by default!...
I hope the dev team takes advantage of the upcoming expansion to bring back the original character models from 1.0 and that they also improve the feet and let us walk free of sandals but not just that, they must also improve the models so feet will look more natural in a way that even toes look correct and not like the pitiful blocks they are right now!...![]()
