Not to mention he said they won't be usable on the new jobs.Because outside of the MSQ leveling is just irrelevant? You can still do leveling roulettes, FATEs, dungeons etc. every day if you find it fun, but some people may not. Spamming the same thing daily is not fun in everyone's eyes, plus the potions won't get you right up to lv70.
The fact you're going to start at level 50 doesn't prevent you from queueing up for Brayflox level sync if you want to learn your kit that bad. I understand people saying "LET OTHER PEOPLE LEARNN!1" but everybody uses that as an excuse. Nobody says "I want to learn it that way", everyone always speak as if someone else is asking them to be the protectors of this "I wanna learn" community.
POTD is there if people want to start at lvl 1 and progressively learn. Level sync dungeons are also there. Even if you sync for a low level FATE you can learn your skills just fine. RDM starting at lvl 1 or lvl 50 is irrelevant.
i would like SAM/RDM to start at the level 60![]()
Amen. Simply queue for lower duties and do it that way. The option of starting at 30 forces everyone onto your path, the option of starting at 50 allows you to do it your way and everyone else to get on with things. The fact you're going to start at level 50 doesn't prevent you from queueing up for Brayflox level sync if you want to learn your kit that bad. 1. No one said anything of getting rid of levels at all. I prefer the way the devs are intending to plan it out by having only 20 levels of EXP required, especially as the time required to level 50-60 is the same as 1-50, and 50-70 is already longer than that.
2. That's great, but that playstyle is not many would agree with, because characters will still exhibit leveling and growth, but instead of 40 levels of grinding stuff you've already done and been through for 3 years, you are now doing 20 levels, half the time required, statistically.
3. It might not be you, but a LOT of people are saying "let the people learn!", this implies that any generic person cannot learn, period. I however disagree with your playstyle because losing 20 levels of leveling from Haukke Manor to Aurum Vale, and that it affects leveling and growth is an inane statement to make. It's not something you can claim as fact, it depends on the person. If you honestly don't like it, you're free to go into PotD to 'experience' the leveling and growth you like to see.

I know no one said that, I was just pointing out that if you say starting earlier is pointless, so is leveling at all. (not "you" personally, just in general.)
I personally didn't like it even when jobs started at 30 , but I gave them a pass because there was no class attached to it. It is not an insane statement to make, some people like leveling and growing into a strong character not just starting half way through. I can claim that as fact, because I am one of those people, to say that isn't a fact, is like saying I'm not a "person".
I understand that I am obviously, no longer part of the target demographic anymore, with all this new news. This has been an incredibly long, frustrating, and depressing week for me personally, in regards to this game. It's bumming me out big time. Instead of getting excited I'm just being pushed out the door, it feels bad man.
Well either way, it isn't an inane one either.
I understand that, and you being positive about it is fine. I'm glad you're happy. However; some of us do enjoy that process. I don't think it's crazy or stupid that some people are getting upset, that half the leveling process is being cut from a fresh job, given this is an RPG. The 30 jobs for HW made sense, because they are trying to get rid of classes, and 30 is the magic number where you become a job.
For me, when I start an RPG that contains leveling, some of the fun for me is getting excited at what I'm going to unlock next, I love taking screenshots of my character as a baby in their crappy gear, all the way up through to the end, when they are fully geared and grown. Basically what people are saying here is for us to fake that experience by going to PotD or queing for low dungeons. Which despite what they imply, is not the same thing at all.

ARR job quests were every 5 levels. HW was every 2. The number of quests that can be fit in depends on the frequency of the quests and not just the number of levels.
The less Qarn I have to deal with the better
Regardless of however this situation goes, there will always be people affected negatively, so personally, I am looking at this from the bright side that I personally will require less time spent into a new class I plan to main.
Also, I said inane, which means stupid, not insane. It's obviously not a very demanding request to start at Lv30, I wouldn't care where it started from, but if the devs feel 50 is a good spot, then that gives me even more of a reason to start on RDM since it would take less to reach max.
