    Unpopular opinion here, but I hope they DON'T have plans to release any new tanking or healing jobs with Stormblood. The dev team clearly struggled (and is STILL struggling, IMO) to balance the ones we have currently, and I'd much rather they focus their attention on fixing those than creating new wrenches to throw into the mix. AST and DRK were huge disappointments in the gameplay department (A+ on style/visuals though), and AST in particular was a lazy copypasta of the SCH/WHM toolkit with a minimally interactive buff system relying on RNG gimmick buttons to give you the feeling of doing something meaningful. On the other hand, balancing DPS jobs seems to come easier to them for some reason, so I have confidence that even if there are initial hiccups, RDM will turn out well enough.

    Astro, I'll certainly grant you, but Dark Knight? They have been pretty consistent for a while now and basically Low Blowed (I'm awful, I know) Paladin ever since Gordias. Machinist, on the other hand, was more or less worthless on release and struggled to find a niche until their most recent buffs made them every melee job's BFF.

    That all being said, I still agree with the overall sentiment. The devs need to first address the current meta before adding more roles into it. Frankly, we don't need any new jobs, but we all know that wasn't going to happen. I'm also a little bias because Red Mage is just <insert happy screams>.

    I haven't played in some time, so I was thinking of Savage Midas where IIRC DRK was kinda shunted because a lot of the fights were tilted more on the physical side. Realistically, when I talk about "DRK/AST design" I mean more that they seemed to be built to be weird hybrids of PLD/WAR and WHM/SCH respectively, and less about their effectiveness I guess. Heck, MCH eventually got "fixed", but that still doesn't mean that they were a spectacularly well-designed job - they were a BRD with guns and hilariously frustrating proc-based gameplay in a game that pushes rotations over reactions.

    Fallacies in my DRK knowledge aside, I want them to fix tanking and healing design/compositional woes before hype training ahead into another potential balancing disaster.

    The problem is that will almost certainly cause considerable issues with dps queues at the launch of Stormblood. Sure things might balance out after a month or so it will make a lot of people very angry at launch if we have hour long dps queues for dungeons.

    I totally agree there are issues that have to be solved but any solution would have to take into account the addition of future Jobs so I don't see it being an issue adding them now.

    When I was leveling 30-50 AST at Heavensward launch, AST was so over bloated in the queues at that level that it would take me over an hour to get a dungeon. I survived; I think the DPS can too. I did FATEs from 30-50 and while it was boring, there were tons of people there and it was actually kind of a fun high-energy social hype center. Even though queues for MCH were instant, a good number of them actually preferred to FATE grind with the rest of us because they preferred the social atmosphere over efficient but silent dungeon runs.

    More to the point though, it'll be an even bigger pain to go back and "fix" tank/healer jobs later if they keep adding more, than it would be to worry about some DPS complaining on the forums about queue times if the devs choose to abstain in favor of taking a long hard look at jobs like WHM and PLD.

    EDIT: This assumes that the devs even think there's anything wrong at all, which who knows - the current "moar DPS" tanking and healing philosophy may be intended. Or at the least, not a big enough issue for them to bother working on it.

    Feels like people forget PotD is a piece of content you can level in quite fast... so 2 dps wouldn't truly be that bad... Also helps PotD doesn't follow standard composition.

    I think 5.0 is the time to add another tank and healer let them focus on balancing the current ones for 4.0 and then add new ones next expansion also guessing that will ultimately be their explanation for adding only 2 jobs instead of 3 this time around which I am OK with.
