When starting FFXIV from 2.0 fresh, that's 50 dollars, then you play for the last 3 years at 12.99/6 months. for about 156/yr. So let's think about this for a moment.

    2.0 50 dollars + 3.0 50 dollars + 467 for 3 years= 567 and yet you think that giving players the option to bypass all this content upon buying FFXIV 2.0+3.0 at about 50 dollars + 78 if you do 6 months + 50 dollars for story+lv bypass is to much at 178 dollars compared to the potential 467 or more people put into FFXIV for playing for 3 yrs?

    Releasing the initial expansion quests from the previous storyline quest flags for one. This way, if you meet the proper level requirements, you'd be able to jump into that content immediately. Like every other MMORPG on the entire market.

    For example, you could skip all of 2.0 by simple leveling via any means to 50. You'd meet the pre-reqs for the initiating Heavensward questline with that change, and be able to go through all of that story.

    Going further, they could change the prerequisite flags on dungeons and raids and release you from needing the storyline at all, but that's a bit more involved than simply flagging a single questline.

    I see people saying that people's EXP is devalued because you can buy pots... no it isn't? I got to 60 long before X person did, I had an advantage for a longer period than they did... which, let me remind you, Yoshi plans to put it around 4.3/4.4's time, not 4.0, not 3.5.

    Ahem. They have to do this eventually. The game will be too long that no sane newcomer will play through to current levels. Best to get it over with now and deal with the fallout

    a) thinks this is "monetised cheating"

    I think a lot of people agree with that in principle, it's just the way that this is being introduced that's a problem - and that's where the disagreements are coming in. It's true that it will get increasingly difficult to introduce a friend to join in with the game as things progress, but paying to skip content isn't necessarily the right way to resolve that issue. Personally, I kind of resent the fact that we're being told that they're doing us a favour, but that's just me.

    then level your stuff up! or dare i say it add more exp.. it sort of reads like "eehhh we'll add a little more exp but we can make a lot of money off this cash shop advantage!!" and i will not be having it. they're guaging responses right this second and the *moment* they add cash shop monetized cheating i'm out. observe my blue onion armor i've been here a while. it's their game and they can do as they please. so will i. noob bux versus long time players. maybe most won't care! but i do. this is outrageous, keep it in china.

    Also, people who keep suggesting raising experience gained:

    Yeah, I want to be level 60 and still have the Scions sending me on fetch quests whilst they decide whether or not we should fight Shiva. That'll fix it and make it fun and enjoyable, not even being able to get the abilities I would have at that level.

    Can some of you at least come up with some actual criticisms, or are you going to just claim its P2W or "monetised cheating" because some players won't have to do a grind nobody should've had to have done? :^)
