How does other people having a "Jump Potion" affects you?

I don't see an issue with it at all. If they want to implement it very well then. I'm still enjoying the game. I don't quite understand that drama (more like the over reaction and the scandalous "BYE SE I WILL NEVER PLAY THIS GAME AGAIN. SUB CANCEL" which says a lot of you maturity of certain people regarding this "issue")

So, HOW does Jump potion affects YOUR gameplay? (And please don't give me rotation nonsense cause anyone can learn their rotations in no time by watching a video.plus we are already carrying the new members thru content)

Why not cut the old stuff and instead play a nice and exciting cut scene for new players? Or maybe simply ask the new player if he wants to skip it or not?

Wouldn't it leave a bitter taste on a new player's mouth to be charged so many times for every little thing? Buys game > Pays sub > Buys potion to skip story and reach his friends (or play alone for weeks/months, in an MMO) > Pays for nice looking gear, emotes, furniture, et cetera.

Doubt that since the whole point is to get you caught up to play with friends. That's not locked behind gathering/crafting.

Absolute nonsense. Several other ways to alleviate these problems could have been implemented, they just weren't as cash grabby.

I'm ambivalent to this one way or the other, I'd not use one but have no problem with others doing so, but I find this kind of empty rhetoric somewhat tiresome, come up with some suggestions if there are 'several' of them!

Why would the jump potion start at the end of 3.55? Instead of the start of 3.5?

I mean, I get that people want to hurry and get to the new content, but 2.5 and 2.55 really set up Heavensward with Keeper of the Lake, the Steps of Faith, and introductions to the major characters of the expansion's story. Presumably 3.5 and 3.55 are going to do the same to Stormblood. So by dropping them at the start of 3.5 they would get the lead-in to the expansion, a bit of time to learn the background of the Stormblood story, and a bit of practice playing at level 60. Besides, if 3.5 continues the trend of 3.x, it won't be nearly as drawn out as 2.x and should be more tightly focused on the actual story, so wouldn't take too long.

If this does get implemented, I really really hope all that money goes into improving the game and giving more free stuff to players. Like, you know Retainers? Would be great to have more than 2, how about 4 or 5?
