it's almost like you have to play a video game to unlock things in that video game or somethingI used to think it was a stupid idea, but reading the posts in the other thread, I can see why they're doing it. It really does take a long time for anyone to get caught up with everyone else, and if they want to play the new jobs or go to the new areas, they have to put in a lot of hours just to get there.
I can see why people wouldn't like it, from a business standpoint, it makes sense.
you can't pay to start on disc 3 of final fantasy 7
I don't really see an issue with these potions I mean it's gonna be needed at some point because the MSQ is very long now but I also think there should be some basic method of teaching new players.
I personally would rather have the potions unlock all the dungeons but the new player would still need to go through them at least once. This way players get to do a few boss fights that layout some basic mechanics that carry throughout the game, get to spend a little time with the class or job (each dungeon would have the appropriate skills unlocked so players can get familiar with what they do like normal) and for friends bringing people in it's not such a huge task of catching them up and can essentially be done in a few hours (even faster unsynced). Veterans who just want to level a new job quick wouldn't need to worry about any of this. I feel like it should unlock the next dungeon in the list as you complete them allowing you to skip all the story stuff between them.
- This isn't WoW. Before you hit max level there is actually a fun and great game that can be played.
- If you want to play with friends, just make sure you made your character in the right world.
- This won't extend the game's life. This will shorten it. If I can just jump to 60 and finish all the end game stuff what is there left to do? I'll unsubscribe once I've gotten everything I wanted.
- For a ton of people who have never tried an MMO before this is their first. The data that's been shown is referring to a completely different audience and culture. People in Korea and China are hyper knowledgeable MMOs and such. Not here.
- Looking at our older brother MMO World of Warcraft we can see exactly what Jumping Potions did to their NA and EU servers, their player bases etc. Killed their economy, made finding a competent group to raid endgame with hard, People getting overwhelmed by the amount of stuff and leaving.

People don't have time to play video games anymore.
As a super busy person who works 45 hours a weeks with 5 kids from 3 baby mamas. I need this game to cater to me and my needs sir ™
absolutely not, out of the question. You joking??? the point of a MMO is to get the story and level up your characters. You REALLY want to destroy the experience of a MMO, this is a good way to do it. I would in-fact think that think that this kind of 'jump potion' idea would detract real MMO fans.
MMO's are not just about story and levelling... good lord, this thread is giving me a headache.
Some would argue the point of an MMO is endgame PvP or raiding. They're different games for different people.absolutely not, out of the question. I was not aware FFVII is an online cooperative game I can play with my friends.
This thread is saltier than a can of campbell's chicken noodle soup.
The game devs have already made up their mind on how they're going to handle this. If I like the change it will bring, I'll keep playing. If I don't, then I will find a different game to play. C'est la vie.

I personally hate the idea of a jump potions. knowing when it came to China and other regions it was just a matter of time before it came to the main game.
I play for the story mainly, I will be stopping my sub when 4.x comes out and Play for 1 month when 5.x comes up and use a jump potions repeat till no more Expansion out. It will save me money in the log run.
Commendations.
If I play dps I only give it out to other dps.
If I play tank I only give it out to healers.
If I play healer I only give it out to tank.
Only if they should be getting a commendation.
There are always exceptions to the rules!
