I got a bunch of the thorne shelves and egg towers this past Hatchingtide and Little Lady's Day. They are tradeable and can be put on the MB, though they weren't when I first got them. So it must have been after those two events that things changed. But I got some of the pumpkin soup items during this year's halloween event, so we shall see after the next big patch if they change status.
