Didn't sound like it to me... Yoshi has already said that a job is a way to specialize your class, and that a job's level is determined by class level. "Jobs progressing through quests", to me, basically means that to get new abilities and to further enhance/specialize your job, you need to do quests. But to actually level it up, you do the same things you do now to level a class.I think it means the process of leveling up will be done primarily through questing, like every other MMO, rather than pure grinding like it is now.
Also, there will likely be many, many quest hubs scattered throughout all the zones. Cities will not be the only place to get quests.
Yeah, but none of those games were FFXI.
You forget that FFXI is the be all, end all of what FINAL FANTASY is, and anything that's different from FFXI isn't FINAL FANTASY...
I dunno, I guess we'll see. But if Yoshi-P understands the MMO market in its current state (and his actions thus far have demonstrated that he does), he should know that old-school style grinding simply isn't what most people want in a modern MMO.Didn't sound like it to me... DUDE REALY? you sound like you havnt a clue the game is better than at luanch and 2.0 will make it even better but hey what do i klnow i dont play it or anything lol go ahead log off for good make room for players who enjoy the game and have like mindsets to those of us currently playing and enjoying itThis is just.. terrible.
The game looks like WoW, and everything about it sounds like every other MMO on the market. So much of the stuff they talk about (dungeon finder, achievements, etc) are just... sigh...
While it initially sounded good, the more I read, it just got worse and worse. I am absolutely disappointed in SE, they've gone and ruined what they were actually starting to fix and improve upon. I knew a new UI was coming, I knew a lot was coming... but all of this is just completely annoying and just... I'm just shocked that they actually did this.
Colossal disappointment... I don't even care that they're starting to charge money, I would've gladly kept paying right now... but after this, I just don't think so. :\
*log off*
oh yea site mods why dont we have a hate or dislke button to use on moronic posts like the OP in this thread lol
And why are you surprised about chocobo fighting?
It's old news that they planning to let the chocobos fight with us.

I play WoW as well as FF XIV and they look very different. Graphics wise, there is absolutely no comparison. The only similarities are the UI.The game looks like WoW. Everything about it sounds like any other MMORPG. FFXIV was good because it was UNIQUE. FFXI was unique too. Now, they're gone and resorted to copying everything else in order to try to revive the game and not have the game be a big sunk cost.
It's just... sad. I'm all for improvements upon the game. I'm all for a better FFXIV. I don't like the current state of affairs, but the newer one doesn't look like an improvement... definitely not what I've been hoping for.
Either way, the current FF XIV can't sustain itself as no one is going to pay for it. You may enjoy the current FF XIV, but it appears as though the rest of the MMO community does not, hence the 2.0 update. I commend SE for going this direction otherwise their only option would be to shut down the servers.
Are you being serious in this statement? Final Fantasy 7 would be considered the "end all be all" of the series.
lol no final fantasy is the end all be all of final fantasy those statement are so ridiculous.
