You just made sense of it right there. The fundamentals don't change, true, but the content and representation does. No one's expecting any increase in difficulty for dungeons, as SE has stated they keep them at an accessible level for all players. When I say we'll all be "new", we will officially be leveling again, and prone to the ins and outs of leveling. I can recall many overconfident tanks in ARR raid gear getting wiped in Sohm Al trying to pull too much. Or even the best healers struggling to keep up in the Aery. They weren't bad, they were just new to that content. But by your initial statements, you would dislike them all the same.

It's conjecture at this point, as you clarified your statement, but I'm bringing things around. As for jump potions, I'll worry about that if and when it becomes a reality. Til then, there's plenty of time and opportunity for people to learn their jobs proper (and RELEARN them for the ones that see bigger changes in SB). A certain degree of patience and understanding will be due for your fellow players, who will be experiencing everything and how it works this time. Just like you will.

I love helping newbies :3 even more so with WT! I generally queue with another player and when we find that there is bonus involved we always do our best to help. We generally let the newbie see the fight for themselves and if they seemed trouble we will let them know (most of the times we take a gamble to see what mechanic they will die to first :3 but that's just a bit of light hearted entertainment)

And this is why NA has a bad DF scene compared to JP. People here don't feel an obligation to their teammates to play their best.

When I first started, I spent a lot of time learning how the game worked. I learned about the Job system, cross class skills, dungeon flow, everything I could find. Why? Because this is a MULTIPLAYER game. I owe it to my teammates to play well. Not doing so makes me an asshole and a jerk.

This attitude is not common in NA, in any game. Instead we get this narcissism where people don't feel any obligation to their teammates, because they are the one that matters most. The team is not important.

If they pulled to much at their first time in expansion they clearly were bad tho.

I get it. Your views are firm and inflexible on the matter. And while I'm certain you aren't just trying to argue, you - at this point seem like that's what you're here for.

Simply put: You don't want to deal with inexperienced players. Got it. It's a pretty difficult thing to avoid them, but do as you will. There are, thankfully, other players who can and will, so it's of no concern to you.

Sadly, I feel like every time I come back from a long break (thanks med school...) that I am that 'new player'...
That being said, I do try my best to read up on dungeons before I do them & have a boss guide up while I'm running it.

I am extremely thankful to those who show kindness, and offer advice (even when I don't ask for it).
In turn, I'm always gracious to the new players that are a bit rusty but WANT to learn. I can see why some would be annoyed, especially in upper level content where folks are supposed to know their roles... but in lower level content, I have grown to expect that there may be a sprout or two who haven't quite gotten the hang of things yet. These ones make my dungeon runs a bit more exciting

Act in such a way that you treat humanity, whether in your own person or in the person of another, always at the same time as an end and never simply as a means

Honestly I have less patience to veterans that mess up because they think they know everything than new players or "strugglers".

There is also another side to this though that yeah newbies or people new to content in general can educate themselves, go read up on a guide, watch a video, etc sure. But that's not gonna guarantee that once they start said instance they'll have everything 100% memorized, specially in later content when sometimes it can be a lot to have to memorize at a time. That said, getting the actual experience by doing rather than reading can be a lot more helpful.
It's just a bit unfortunate when a person can tell their party that they're new, and they end up messing up and get shit for it/kicked. That comes with learning, and for some reason many who are experienced jump into DF expecting that everything will go perfect with a bunch of randoms.
