More DCs and 90k's hit Aether/Primal!

By the way, PSN had encountered issues earlier before Level3 issue. Not so good day for XIV.

once again, from the mainland of europe, i cannot connect to Balmung. let alone get in the data center OR access my NA based characters on the lodestone.
i keep getting error 5006 when trying to get on the datacenter, my connections are just fine, well over 100mbps down and about 12mbps up, all other internet based apps work like a charm. would this suggest a datacenter crash? cause last time i got 2002, 90k and whatever else connection based error.

It's not a data center crash. When I DC'd (followed by an FC mate, and another friend of ours), there were still people on our server.

Ormuco, from my understanding, is also located in Montreal.
Since there has been mention of Montreal having some wintery weather, it's something to consider that perhaps Ormuco's servers are also being impacted by the wintery weather.



There was an individual that posted on the current Reddit thread about this outage about how Montreal was having wintery weather beforehand, though. Still something to consider.



This current situation is completely out of SE's control. As was the situation from three days ago, where as Level3 posted on their Twitter account that their Montreal servers were having problems. SE cannot control the flow of Internet traffic.

It's actually been shown over and over that the ISP issue you are talking about has nothing to do with our issue AND even if it was related it WOULD be SE's issue cause they are the ones using them for their servers in some fashion.

SE doesn't choose Level 3 (or any other similar service), the route is chosen by your ISP. So...no, it's not SE's fault.

Actually, ISPs are the ones that route traffic through Level3, not SE.
SE has ZERO CONTROL over how Internet traffic flows, or is directed.
Level3 is an Internet backbone. The purpose of an Internet backbone is to direct and encourage the flow of data through the Internet (traffic, for lack of a better term). They are not a server host, which I think is what you are confusing them with.

just very poorly reachable then. i wonder why NA is so unstable compared to EU and JP datacenters.

But when it comes to Ormuco, I was able to get to see some text stuff and some pictures on their website and they are using a FFXIV trailer to show who they are working with. So as their page is (semi-)down it could be it comes from their side, so its also a bit of SE's fault, as they seem to have chosen Ormuco as a partner. But then, if its due to weather problems, one cant totally blame anyone.

Well, we are in winter season. So Central US? I wouldn't recommend that, because Central US has Tornado Alley.

I pretty much spend all my time in game crafting and I use ffxivcrafting.com (crafting as a service) for everything, and ffxivclock.com for the timed nodes, what are you looking for in particular?
