Wondering about a possibility for an in-game event.

    Hello there.

Based on the title I'm wondering if a certain in-game event might take place in the future. You see I'm a FF series fan and I really enjoy playing all of it's titles. Yet I'm also a fan of a different SE title - Kingdom Hearts. There was the Yo-kai event and I've heard that there was a Dragon Quest one back in the past so I would really enjoy a KH based one. With the 2.8 and (soon hopefuly) 3 coming out I think it would be a good idea.
Or if such an event wouldn't be able to be made I'd even welcome optional items in the MogStation based on that title. For example the organization coat, Riku's blindfold, the general hairstyles from there, weapons based on either keyblades or organization XIII.

Since I don't know if I've posted this suggestion on the right forum section so do forgive me if I caused an error.
Anyway I hope You'll all have a great day today.

For KH, your best bet would be release of Kingdom Hearts 3.

You see, we did not received a cross event with FF XV, the biggest SE (both in terms of time development and money investment) project of all times. Considering that, KH event is even more unlikely to happen.

With regards to XV, Yoshi-P said that if an event were to happen, it would not occur at the time of the game's launch, but later on. So people could get better aquainted with the characters and story.

With regards to KH, there probably won't be an event until SE finally decides to speed up production of KH3, and actually release it. It's already been 11 years since KH2 was released, and I've honestly stopped following the series just because I'm frustrated at the fact that KH3 still doesn't even have a tentative release date. But, an event would be kind of cool. I'd like to be able to get some of the outfits for glamour purposes.

Ignoring my own personal hatred for Kingdom Hearts, it is extremely unlikely there will ever be a KH-themed crossover event in FFXIV - and that is for several reasons.

Firstly, the previous crossover events have all had some personal connection to Naoki Yoshida and/or FFXIV in general (the FFXIII event was the result of a private joke between Yoshi and FFXIII producer Motomu Toriyama at E3 in 2013 who, upon hearing Toriyama had added the FFXIV miqo'te starting armour and level 50 GLA/PLD Grand Company weapons for Lightning in Lightning Returns, Yoshi said he would "find some way to repay the compliment" by "having Lightning appear in FFXIV in some way" (paraphrased). Officially, the event was also to help promote Lightning Returns as well, which was launched around the time the crossover events ran.

Then there was the FFXI events which coincided with the eleventh anniversary of service for FFXI for the first event featuring Shantotto, and the official winding up of FFXI's storyline for the second event featuring Iroha - it was also a fond acknowledgement of the fact FFXIV is FFXI's symbolic and literal successor, as well as acknowledging Yoshi's predecessor as FFXIV's producer, Hiromichi Tanaka (who was FFXI's original producer as well). Finally, the Dragon Quest event (which few people seem to even remember) was celebrating Dragon Quest X's first anniversary of service, as well as a call back to Yoshi's previous game development project - he was formerly part of the DQX development team before he was promoted to producer of FFXIV after Tanaka's departure when FFXIV 1.0 failed.I'm not sure of the connection the Yo-Kai Watch event has to FFXIV's development team though, so, anything is possible I guess.

But a KH crossover event is still unlikely, if only for the reason KH is not exclusively owned by Square Enix, it is co-owned by Disney, and.. well... given Disney's rather.... heavy handed approach to protecting their IP rights, it would require a lot of legal wrangling to get a KH-themed crossover in FFXIV, the sort that would make intellectual property lawyers curl up in the foetal position in defeat whimpering softly to themselves.

And that is not even taking into account comments Yoshi made in an interview way back in 2013 before the game's launch that stated they would not run crossover events featuring characters who would not fit into the game's lore (or would negatively influence player perception of the game/s that character came from), whose stories are already complete, or who are dead in their respective games:

    · We will not use characters that are already dead or whose role has ended in their title

For example, “Red XIII” who appeared in FFVII.

I believe we mentioned “Red XIV” as a joke before, but Red XIII has a very rare and specific role in the world of FFVII. If he was wandering around the world of Eorzea it would destroy the image of the world of FFVII, so this can’t happen.

This is just a simple example of what we mean.
So although it is still a remote possibility, I think you would more likely see FFXIV 1.0 restored to operation than a KH crossover with FFXIV ARR. But may I be proven wrong though!

I think we will either have a event or they might add special KH minions/glamour as a code with a purchase of KH:3.

Akihiro Hino (CEO of Level-5 the company that makes Yokai Watch) is friend of Yoshi-P and seems to also be a hardcore raider who likes difficult content.

    Let me correct myself.
