I'm 100 percent for it because with the introduction of materia melding NPCs crafters have been made essentially useless for helping people in small convenient ways. the benefits of being a crafter are slowly being nerfd more and more.

maybe this is sappy but i leveled this to help people. I do however want to point out that instanced repairs would have to be done for free to prevent gil from changing servers

I was honestly surprised when I first found out I couldn't do this. I can repair my own stuff mid-battle, why not my party member's?

Not sure about charging gil in dutyfinder, though, that could move gil between servers, which I doubt SE would want...but at least require the other person to have catalysts on them.

As someone that is leveling their crafter classes, I see no reason to be against this suggestion. Allowing me to repair other players gear will let me either help my friends or make me some money from players that want the extra 100% durability. This feature is a WIN/WIN for both crafters and players that want the extra 100% durability, but do not want to level a crafter.

Long as they put a hard cap on it I can't see anyone finding it worthy, I mean 50/100gil per item (or even per repair set) seems so little you'd be better off just running a quick map. However I still kinda do lean toward it being that you have to have the needed stuff to perform it, either the crafter or the person requesting it. Can't imagine people who have no crafter leveled carrying around any to be honest.

Like someone mentioned transferring Gil might be an issue, unless it is not.
We are unable to get melding/trading requests in dungeons. Maybe there is a reason behind that, such as not wanting people to sell things in dungeons?

I really want this feature to happen though.

I'd only want to charge the cost of the dark matter it takes to repair it. Asking for a tip to repair someone else's gear could turn into extortion.

I understand where you are comming from, but the non-crafter has a choice to either find another crafter or be content with the normal 100% durability that they can get from Mender NPC. The way I see it, the crafter should be allowed to pick the price and the non-crafter can negotiate a price which they are can agree upon. If the non-crafter does not agree with the crafter, then they can go fiind another crafter. Worst case scenario, they visit the Mender NPC instead and get the usual repair.

The only issue that I see with asking gil, will be that someone might take advantage to use the gil trading as a way to trade between servers.

Please make this a thing, i'm so forgetful when it comes to repairs. On more than occasion has my group had to leave the instance because of this forgetfulness.

Which in a dungeon is possibly telling your healer or tank to pay 10k per item (cus to be honest, I can see people trying to extort people like this) causing them to laugh and just ditch the party or accept it. Honestly I see a dps more willing to bite the bullet than a Tank/Healer anyway just because of wait times. Which is why I feel it should be a straight set fee by developers or just having the mats.

Guess worst comes to worst they could start sticking repair nodes like in Azys that will allow you to repair right at the start.

what's this about fees? Menders are a gil-sink. Carbon Matters are all crafters need (and is ultimately cheaper). you cant even trade in duties, why would there be a fee or something for duties? Repairs for others should/have to be free in order to be used in duties. tips/extortion can be kept to face-to-face idyllshire/FC rooms. no need for "only in DF"

Like I understand the fear of extortion or cross-server gil trading, but what I DON'T understand is why player-set fees are even being considered in the first place?

Either no fees or Mender price fees+Carbon Matters. I really don't understand why there needs to be some sort of haggle price... ESPECIALLY in DF
