    Eh, even outside of not being able to just dismount wherever I want (and it's not just wanting to fall to my death - there are a lot of statues, pillars, hills, rocks, etc that SE hasn't bothered allowing you to "stand" on, which means you can't "land" on them, which means you can't dismount to stand on top of them), the whole having to get all the way to the ground before dismounting (and not being able to dismount by using an action) is really clunky. The transition between being in the air and being on the ground is not smooth at all.

    I can imagine a Sprint feature for mounts that add some small flavor of flight simulation and/or mounted ground travel. Increased speed, restrictived moment. don't think they'd invest in something like this, but it would be nice to have something more. Moving on 3 axis != flight.

    (I'd also like NPC interaction from mounted state, it's Final Fantasy, and to me mounted dialogue is part of the whole fantasy genre. You hear Ferry operator? A tick of mine)

    Heh. Imagine having to cope with air pressure, squalls, uplift, temperature control, momentum and inertia...

    Now that I think about it, that would probably make ground mounts a looot more appealing.

    Frankly, I'm glad this isn't like WOW where players can remain seated on stupidly large mounts obscuring NPCs being totally inconsiderate and at times deliberately being jerks.
