I dont raid so I dont have savage gear, I did not find the vault to be really hard, you just needed a healer that knew how to heal and needed to know how to get out of AOEs. I was a little frustrated with the original steps of faith, but more so because people loved to abandon it and that you knew that you wont manage it but had to wait till Mr. Dragon was at the end, thus wasting so much time. I am really sad how nerfed he is nowadays..Its also not our fault that we are geared nicely since this is the normal way to gear up..I mean SE could just release dungeons that needed a certain ilvl to start but they decide to go with such a low ilvl that the gear that drops there is already outdated for the people that between the patches tried to at least gear themselves a little.

Yes this is theme park mmo thus why I said that they should just leave the MSQ dungeon like they are now (or maybe just a little harder) and make the HM dungeons harder...but not something like savage..just that you should pay attention and know your job at least a little bit. Just make two different roulettes so that player that dont want to play good or just cant play good can run the MSQ roulette and other players that are at least decent can run true expert runs..that should make both parties happier and if someone wants to run the HM dungeons too than they have to accept that they need to get a little better.

Really for a theme park MMO there is barely anything for the middle crowd..you have the Ex primals and maybe palace of the death solo as a challenge. But nothing more..Well at least I can watch lots of lets play that way since the dungeons are so boring and easy and yet still throw out nice numbers.

Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.

People, FFXIV is a THEMEPARK game, of course most of it's content is easy.
Even themeparks got rides for the big boys.
We are not and i repeat not asking for savage mode. We are asking for dungeons that require you to use yer noggin' and have mechanics that require individual thought and judgement.

I would like a "savage mode" for all 4-mans, actually. I don't like that the only semi-challenging content is restricted to only one type of content.

I hope you're ready to give me 90% of your gil, then.

Forget it. We are seriously just going back and forth with telling people this.
Not only I want a bit harder dungeons but I also want more FUN dungeons too.
None of these 4 mans are all that fun, you get bored of it after a run or two
because it shows the same tired mechanics all day long. I said earlier that
in the newest dungeons, I can pop all my CD's and barely even have to heal the tank during boss fights.
I never have had to done that before in any 4 man dungeon into this patch. I'm just a DPS at that point.

I'd honestly like for this kind of post to be quoted in the OP so that whiny people don't get confused.

DARE YOU RIDE THE MURDERNATOR!... yeah, I go to theme parks that are designed for people over the age of 5, the "challenge" in theme parks are the fear factor and adrenaline rush.

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
It is called that because it is one of the few dungeons where the healer needs to use their brain. I never struggled myself, but you'd be surprised how many still do because they can't think. Usually the ones wanting stuff to be really easy.

Personally when I want fear and adrenaline rush I play survival horror games. Play Silent Hill 1 and you will piss in your pants, guaranty. Definitively THE scariest game.

FF XIV is a themepark MMO and gothic and horror are not part of the features of the game. In my case, when I was depressed after losing 2 pets, one right after the other, the cheerful, happy and colorful setting of FF XIV helped me in that phase.

There is a gothic horror MMO in development, created after CCP Games cancelled World of Darkness Online, where you can become a vampire and feed on humans, called Dogma: Eternal Night. I'm looking forward to it, and I was looking forward World of Darkness Online as well. Vampire the Mascarade: Bloodlines is one of my favorite games and I've been dreaming of an MMO in a similar setting. Vampire the Mascarade: Bloodlines also has scary moments.

I wouldn't mind a bit more challenging content, yeah. I mean, some friends and I have literally autoattacked our way through some of these expert dungeons in 30 minutes just for kicks and giggles. It's especially bad with some of the 8-man content where as long as you have 4 decent players, the other 4 can be horrible and still get carried through.
