I've been receiving these spam party invites on Hyperion now. Would a moderator kindly inform us the proper route of reporting this activity? It would be awesome to have confirmation of acknowledgement from the dev team or special task force of this problem if possible. It took several years to get acknowledgement of /tell abuse but I recall the friend request abuse tactic from the past was addressed rather quickly.

I'd guess it would fall under harassment since it's a bogus party invite. It's not cheating because it's just a party invitation, but it's definitely a griefing tactic, and probably falls under harassment because of that. Just my 2 cents...

    Take one for the team!

Everyone join their party until is full, then they cant send more invites (or so I believe, haven't actually try it myself).

It could even be fun... meeting random people who are also sacrificing themselves for the good of others xD

They used to do the same thing with Friend requests, and SE eliminated that by disabling the ability for free trial accounts to send Friend requests. Would the same thing be viable here?

The biggest concern when restricting access to stuff is to prevent it causing trouble to legitimate new players, so what do people who actually did (or are doing) a free trial think? If Free Trial players could still join parties provided a subscribed player invites them but not the other way around, would that give them sufficient access to seeing how the game works? A Free Trial, by its nature, is already expected to have more limitations than a regular account.

Posting here as this was the orginal thread.
I think not allowing free trials to send party invites would be the best solution although they should be allowed to receive them.

A trial account is already restricted from sending party invites:
    [Party Restrictions]

    - Free Trial users cannot invite other players to their party.
    - Free Trial users cannot recruit party members via the Party Finder.
+ However, Free Trial users can be invited to parties and use the Duty Finder feature. (in-game matchmaking system)

Which will make these account, stolen accounts or accounts sold to rmts by players who no longer have no desire to play again.

    Is it reset Tuesday yet.

I question whether I'm playing a PvE game with PvP mixed in, or I am I playing a PfG.

It's too bad that we can't see the last revision date of this FAQ article as this is on the bottom of the list of restrictions.
They may have added/changed this under the radar (without needing to perform maintenance) very recently, as in today due to this new tactic.

I too have received a couple of those party invites, but I tend to decline/ignore them.

Otherwise, it probably are stolen/hijacked accounts as I don't see them using sold accounts for this.

Odds are they're using stolen CC#s from people foolish enough to buy gil from them. Although I wouldn't be surprised if they stole accounts too - especially if they offered leveling services.

I am hoping that they add the Report RMT function to invites in 3.5 in January. Fingers crossed!

This is getting annoying. Once they make a chocobo a pet in 3.5, that won't protect us from getting invited. Back to being set to "busy" all the time I guess.
