Feedback: The Recent Removal of Exclusive PVP Rewards

I don't really mind that they are unlocking the minion, but I do mind that the replacement is an earring. I probably won't be getting top 10, so this is really how I feel about it for people who ARE going to get top 10... You worked hard for it. You should get more than a tiny earring. Earrings are *barely* noticeable. Top 100 get a special huuuuuge mount, and top 10 get a tiiiiiny earring (and a minion that others can obtain)? It seems silly. I have a special exclusive earring from other contests and I can promise you no one notices it. I just get to wear it to feel good about myself. But, even if they had changed the accessory to something else, it is unlikely people would notice it either. A lot of necklaces get hidden with different gearsets.

I really like the idea of a unique PvP emote or weapon glamour. However, I think they might be saving special weapon glamours for future PvP seasons (as they said they would be switching things up from time to time). I had previously mentioned this in another thread... and perhaps I am very old fashioned... but I would really like to see PvP title rewards! You could show those off anywhere. The special 'icon' would be a nice touch, but then surely other people would be asking for that special icon for other difficult content, such as beating savage raids when they were 'current' content.

Thinking more outside the box, what if one of the unique rewards was a special haircut you could *only* get by being a top PvPer? Something really, really gladiator-like.

What if season 4 reward was the exact same as season 3 reward, no slight variations of any kind, unlike like season 2 and season 1 reward, would that turn majority of the recurring top feast players away to allow newer feast players a chance to get the reward.

This was something that caused a lot of confusion between seasons 1 and 2, and thus they explained that rewards will change every 2 seasons. That allows for a good measure of time for people to compete for the rewards (even if similar but different), as well as forward incentive still.

Personally, I'd have wanted one of those coats from S1 or 2 as opposed to a mount. I already have the mounts I really want except for the original ADS, and it wont be too long before I get that.

ikr this can't make me even sadder. ppl complain for minion and get some pages of reply and SE act for them. we ask for GC restriction fixing for queue times long time ago with many many many threads and still not fixed.
if PVP mode and pvpers are not that important for SE why not just let the game be PVE mode and not stress themselves with us. i could just move to another game for pvp with actual rewards instead of putting effort here only to get my future seasonal rewards handed freely later on as some type of achievement.

I want to highlight this so it can be seen by the devs.

We as the vocal minority of an already-minority group of players receive so little, both in content, and in reward, and when you finally DO try to offer something of interest, it's lessened to an achievement award, and then we're offered a participation award as well. This is unacceptable.The gear we have is well below current PvE levels, and generally not all that useful for the content it was intended for, and thus becomes special currency-restricted glamour. Materia is, and will continue to be useless as long as current modes ignore their bonuses, and the Morale stat is defunct, yet still added to new gear. Wolf Marks ultimately become useless as we participate enough to cap, then have so little of relevance to spend it on, and there is no means of currency exchange, or better use besides.

In the end, our rewards are minimal, irrelevant, easily-grinded even by people that otherwise scoff at or ignore the content required for it, and it would seem far too often our requests, concerns, and communication seems to only go one way. This too is unacceptable.

This is not about wanting to have things ONLY to ourselves. No. This is an issue when what little we're offered in the way of newer and greater reward incentive is changed to become a participation award for anyone who otherwise wouldn't bother with PvP, THEN offered little more than a participation award for those who put forth the effort to rise above the rest in the spirit of competition. This is about the complaints of minion collectors being answered within days, yet our requests and complaints have only now, after more than a year received a "maybe". You tell us to "Please look forward to it", then offer us so little to look forward to. And now apparently, if that proves controversial to an entirely different and unrelated group of players, it becomes something even less interesting to look forward to.

If I could make a personal complaint, I would say please don't offer any minions in the future. Instead, how about a little better treatment?

It's like when the t9 savage title got changed because 1 guy claimed it was homophobic based on the movie it was referencing...when it turned out that movie is the complete opposite of homophobic.

The problem is I would expect that very small minority to still significantly outnumber the PVP player base.

Since patch 3.5 is approaching and soon after the end of season. I think this topic should be revisited and gain more traction so hopefully SE will care.
