Generic rant about actual DF, probably been covered before. An FC friend has the tank bail half way through ARF, a tank from our FC queues join in progress gets put with a fresh group, I do the same and also get put with a fresh group while my FC friend is still sat there without a tank... >.> what's the point in the Join in progress selection if it throws you into fresh groups even when there's a group open? Surely those halfway through should get priority over those still waiting to start the duty?

Can you still see how much time has elapsed or bosses killed before entering and in progress? That usually is a dead giveaway that you will not be joining your friend's in progress group if it's blank.

All i can imagine is that the queue for your friend's group popped for somebody else a few times and they declined it while you and your other friend tried to hop in.

Got an obvious troll last night:

Leveling roulette > Aery. Queue in to see a nin and a lvl 56 thaumaturge. Look at the guys profile, and he has blm unlocked. When asked why he was thm instead of blm he started spouting gibberish about food he likes and word associations. Tank was having none of it and simply stated "waiting the 5 for kick." 5 minutes of random crap coming from the troll and we finally get to kick them. Get a rep, smooth sailing from there and cleared in under 20 even with the initial 5 minute wait.

Had a fun Expert last night. Got Gubel HM and it was pretty normal up until the end. The tank pulled everything in the room before the panda fight. That was the first I saw it, everyone else pulls just the first two groups. I Shadewalkered the healer when I saw the tank kept going and popped a Mantra and the other DPS was a MCH so it no biggie we got through no trouble. The fun part came during the boss fight. At some point the healer died. The only reason I noticed is because I saw out of the corner of my eyes an empty TP bar. The DRK had less than half HP, which is to be expected from the tank with a dead healer, but the MCH was somehow down to a quarter health and I'm setting a full health wondering what I missed. Then somehow the MCH died before the tank. LB2 bar filled up and I did 64k to the boss and the tank died during that. Everyone else was dead and I had like 80% health. I got two comms for that. I commed the tank and hopefully he got the last one too.

This has definitely become more common. My last 5(?) runs have all done this. That said, I often tell them to do it and then AoE LB.

I did a palace of the dead run, had a goon who got the pox, but refused to use a purity pom cause " I don't believe in vaccinations "................ wut?

Hmm I haven't noticed to be honest, I'll remember to look out for that next time. I also didn't think about how it may have popped for another tank who just didn't confirm, luckily they got a tank around 5 minutes after we had queued, Inv to join in progress should be a thing imo for situations like this, not the first time it's happened and I've ended up stuck doing a duty I really didn't want to do when I was trying to help out a friend, while they are sat still waiting.

God I love deciding to go into trial roul on my main dps class for once, get Titan HM which makes my framerate kill itself in despair, and then have a lagspike and promptly get knocked off.
Someone laughed at me and I got two comms, I'm bright red and want to vanish because that was so embarrassing

A few days ago, in Gubal HM, I landed in there as BLM with a DRG, WHM, and a new WAR, who took the effort to ask for tips and info on mechanics. They had around 29k HP, so fairly-geared, but being unfamiliar with the dungeon, they were doing single-group pulls.

The only person who had a problem with single-group pulls? The WHM, who wanted larger pulls, claiming they could handle them.

So the WAR eventually gave in and pulled the first six mobs right after the first boss, to the fire hall. And whaddya know, they ended up dead and the DRG and I had to tank 6 mobs.

But this wasn't as annoying as the time I landed in Gubal normal, as DRK. The healer was a mentor SCH, while the DPS were a BLM and something else I can't remember, but possibly DRG again.

I decided to just do single-group pulls, to test out how good the DPS was. If it was good enough, I would then upgrade to 2 groups at a time.

End result: DPS was far from stellar. I decided to stick to normal pulls.

Well, the SCH didn't notice the lack of DPS, and was clearly unhappy with my decision to stick to single-group pulls. So much so, they decided to run ahead to the next group while I was dealing with a pack, and pull it back to me. I seriously considered just letting them die, but in the end chose to do my job and took aggro.

So as I took aggro, dealing with way more mobs than I wanted, as the SCH wanted, what does this SCH decide to do? Why, sit down on the floor, refuse to heal or DPS, and just leave everything to their fairy, of course.

Tanking is almost not worth this kind of crap, I swear.

I certainly hope you reported that 'mentor' for their behavior.
It's certainly unbecoming of a 'mentor' to refuse to participate.
