    Extended Ewer on BRD

    So how effective would this be? It could really extend the foes uptime for dps longer than an aoe balance even though it would only benefit casters.

    Just a random thought.

    Interesting idea. I suppose if you ended up with an Extended Ewer your best option would be the bard or healers, if the healers don't need mana then you're absolutely right the Bard could result in higher uptime on DPS. I don't think its worth attempting to get the buff intentionally. but worth remembering as a useful place to put an errant Ewer.

    tbh i wouldn't really go for extended ewers. if you're going to use a ewer i'd recommend an enhanced one, it refreshes quite a bit more.

    Enhanced Ewer has 9% more effect if you want to use both Celestial Opposition and Time Dilation on it, but as much control as we have over cards now, I'd rather save them for my next combo.

    In light party duties, if I happen to have Extended RR and Redraw a Ewer and happen to have a competent BRD and BLM/SMN I will throw Extended Ewer at the BRD, but like Katlyna said, I don't try for it over other more direct effects.

    Wow great info here. Thanks everyone. Yeah I don't think i would try to fish for and exdended/ enhanced ewer, but if the rng is terrible and I'm sick of sitting on cards, I was hoping it might be viable. Looks like it is.

    On the idea of burning time dialation and celestial opposition for it......Probably not, lol. But the math shows just how viable it would be.

    If you have a heavy caster comp in a 24-man raid giving Ewers to a BRD who actually sings Foes is probably a larger DPS increase than trying to fight for Expanded Balances for your party. The nice thing about Ewer into BRD Foes is the fact that its effective as just a single card versus trying to potentially fight for Expanded Balance for optimal Balance usage in your group.

    I would burn a Time Dilation for Ewer, but not necessarily a Celestial Opposition unless I have other buffs going as well that can go with it.

    Also yes, if you're going to buff an Ewer in this capacity please make it Extended and not Expand or Enhance ^^;....

    I would just like to say that Ewer is a Bards best friend. This was some months ago but I was in a Void Ark where we had the only bard in the entire team, mixed with me constantly getting Ewers like 90% of the time, I don't think he ever ran out of MP for the most part minus a few dry spells. To be honest, I think his MP was always on a rise far more than he lost even in battle and that was with just basic, no extended or enhanced.

    Minor things like this get really overlooked by a lot of Astrologians. Ewer on Bard and Spire on Warrior is another one. Astrologians are just too eager to burn them for spread.

    If I got an extra mp card and our raid bard has full MP, I tell her to put on foe's req instead of saving it for another burn phase. It will always fill up their MP.

    Ewer can ALWAYS go to a class using MP. Except Dark Knight. lol

    Truth be told when i use ast and we have a bard and smn or blm i always will give the brd the extended or the enhance ewer . I figured the more up time foe is up faster mobs dies i think ^_^"
