Example, the i70 dungeon gear for dragoon (can't remember the name off the top of my head), was later recolored and used as the level 51 Archaeoskin crafting/gather sets.
Same how the Coat of the Lost Thief/Red Thief/Ghost Thief from St. Mocianne's/Pharos Sirius HM was released as the healer/caster gear for Xelphatol and Gubal HM.

I'm fine with a sort of "collectible" system for armor- possibly even baked into the armoire or something to make it that much more useful. I just don't see the purpose in having people hoard horribly outdated gear for the sake of the models. no amount of inventory space or retainers will fix the problem of hoarding.
Armor RESTRICTIONS though? Well one one hand I see how it's silly a level 60 paladin somehow doesnt have the ability to wear some cheap magical imprint of their old armor (I'm referring to the ilvl 90 set) even if theyre walking around as a WAR or something.... but I think that's the point.
Not to mention the fits people would have about ninja-loot because healers are taking tank loot now. because glamour. Actually, on that note, expanding the pool of potential glamour would only BLOAT the issue because youre now hoarding MORE loot...
I like the system as it is, though I wish it were.... unlocked earlier. New sprouts are just SoL on their own look, especially if an event is going on. and on an alt, 1-50 is a bit of a boring slog as is. It honestly wouldnt hurt having it a bit earlier.... like dye.
I would rather have the Art team actually design armors better than have it all default to "you can glamour anything you want". Let us have 1, ONE healer or caster glamour with some weight to it. Robes are all fine and good, but thats when that's ALL it is for a role, we get to here. people wanting other people's stuff. If we have restrictions, i'd like to see some choice within the restriction. recolors of old armors doesnt do it for me when dye is a thing that exists.

I would love to just have a skin log, rather than have a ton of things in my inventory
I will totally sign up to this a Glamour log of sorts would be amazing to have, to be fair having a slight restriction on who can wear what is fine even WoW has restrictions on gear so I'm fine with it but please SE all my retainers are full and my inventory only has so much space left.

Pretty much all of the glamour armor restrictions are stupid. You should be able to dress up your level 1 character in full Dreadwyrm glamour if you want. You should be able to dress your healer like a tin can if you want. You should be able to dress your battle-hardened tank in their smallclothes if you want (owait - you CAN!).
SE had to explicitly add code forbidding putting certain types of armor glamour on certain classes or levels - it was extra development effort, whose only real purpose was to make players less happy! This makes no sense at all.
I can understand certain outfits being restricted by gender. It's a lot of work to redesign a female outfit to fit a male, or vice versa (not that they haven't gone that extra mile for the vice versa more than a time or two). But the restrictions by job or level were dumb from the start, and are still dumb now - and since the models already exist fixing it is literally as simple as removing the bits of code restricting it!

Current glamour system is broken, please fix it Square Enix & Producer Yoshida!...
What we need:
.- Wardrobe to store all acquired gear.
.- Hundreds of glamour save slots for quick and easy glamouring.¹
This way I wouldn't need to have 4 healer gear sets for my daily dressing needs, I could just apply my desired look onto a single highest item level gear set!...
Notes: ¹ Do not confuse with gear set save slots.

I can just agree with most of you. Sure, some might not see the point of having a wardrobe/glamour log that stores all acquired gear, and it isn't a gamechanging feature, but honestly it would just be so much better than the current system. Sometimes, you don't want to just go with the whole set of a particular costume. Sometimes, you might even want to use lower level gear to get that specific look. I just think that it's unfortunate that, with the nice looking gear and general graphics, so many restrictions are put in place (both deliberately and not) when it comes to glamour.
I hope that SE changes its mind regarding the cross-discipline glamour restrictions too. As others have stated, gear that can be equipped by all classes kind of delete the argument of "not being able to identify the class". And since one character has access to all classes, it isn't a problem of character models or even just locking you out of gear for certain classes. It's just a restriction put there to... restrict? That sounded a bit stupid, but there's no real point that I can see with it.

Aside from the obvious Inventory Storage issues, the biggest problem I have with the system is that so much gear is shared across so many jobs to start with.
If you glamoured the Hailstorm coat of healing to look like the Whm artifact for example. be great for a whm. but when a sch typically uses that same body piece they can't glamour it without removing the whm glamour.
Same thing with the more recent Shire sets. custodians armor for example. if you glamoured it to look like a creed cuirass. be great for pld but you couldn't then glamour it for warrior or dark.
Hate how so many of the sets are shared across so multiple jobs. one of things I actually liked about esoetics was it genrally looked the part for your job. the creed armor was very paladiny. the iga very ninja like (which is rare. very little of the ninja gear actually looks ninja like)
then like the hellfire set or shire set. where its a one look for all and it's not a particularly fitting look for any of the classes that use it
It warms my soul to see so many people supporting this. I remember a year or so ago, if someone brought up this suggestion they were shouted down by angry people talking about how glamour is perfect and we better just be happy we got anything at all. >_<
