    Glamours System

I'm sure this has been discussed before, and I've browsed around a bit to see what people think about it. I will probably bring up both suggestions and questions that have been replied to before, but I hope I can at least bring something new to the discussion. ^^

For a fantastic game with nice graphics like FF XIV, I find the glamours system a bit lacking. First of all, there are tons of gear that look cool in the game. For those who want to collect and keep all of these pieces of gear just in case they want to use it for glamour, inventory space is going to run out quickly. The prisms aren't a problem, but I can't say that they help either.

EDIT (Thanks for the heads up Canadane!):
Wouldn't a wardrobe system be better? I don't know how hard it'd be on the servers to kind of "store" all of the gear (minus recolors) in some kind of wardrobe log. If you could trade in your gear there to "store" it for future usage, the storage problem would be solved. The glamours system would also become easier - you just pick what you want from the wardrobe, and you can still pay in prisms. Right now, you need to keep all the gear that you may want to glamour, and then you need to try them on separately since it's pretty hard to remember how each of them actually look. Basically, it'd be like adding a collection minigame for those who like the fashion aspect of this game. Adding gear would bind it to your character, but add it permanently to the wardrobe.

I'm sure this question has been answered before too, but I'm a bit confused regarding the different glamour restrictions. Why can't DoM equip DoW glamour? You can play all classes on one character, so that can't be the problem. (Model-wise) Is it the animations? Is it so people won't become confused? I mean, I look at the class/job icon more often than what gear they have equipped.

Edit your post and you bypass the 1000 character limit.
Also they've already confirmed they're increasing inventory space for the coming expansion.

Thanks, didn't know that hehe! Increasing inventory space is good of course, but I still think a wardrobe system would be so much better. (Not a main priority change, but just a nice feature)

They answered this around the same time they said glamours wouldn't be allowed for PvP. It's to "make sure" that people won't mistake one role for another. ...which gets annoying when so much caster gear is considered "all classes" when heavy armor, certain leathers/shirts get a DoW or tank-only designation.

I've always wanted to put tank gear on my healer.... what if it was possible like this...if you want to glam a job class gear that isn't your job you MUST have both jobs to max level ex.) glam BRD top on WHM player MUST have WHM and BRD max level. If player has one but not the other it will not work and relic gear CANNOT be glamed to job other than it's job specific gear. I also like the glam wardrobe idea

I've always said that if you can equip it normally, you should be able to wear it as a glamour. The game can already detect this too. In the gear detail box, if you can equip it on another job, the equipable class text color appears as white. Otherwise it appears as red. If you can equip it on your current job, the text color is green. I would assume at least some of the necessary logic is already in the game.

Also, with all the particle effects going on, and HUD taking up screen space, I doubt that many people even pay attention to the other players, much less what other players are wearing.

to add to this, it's almost hard to mistake one's role in pvp since names aren't shown on top of the character but their class/job instead

9/10 I'm looking at the characters roles names then the actually player themselves.

It's lame excuse if people can't see the other's job because of gear. Like in what case you will confused with other's job? Even in party list you can see the job icon of each person.
