Viera as the next new race~ Show your support

How many threads about Viera are there? Why not show the support there instead of making a new topic?

I would say no only because it looks lazy and boring. Too similar to Miqote. You need something more inspired that looks more than human with an extra feature. Unfortunately, it's probably what the next race will be. Beastly races are a no go, because there are not too many people who like them, despite being a cooler option. If I would go for a lazy design like Viera, I would rather have winged humans than bunny eared humans. It's lazy, but cooler in the end. My opinion only, of course.

I did come up with a better idea, but I'll post it in the race thread if I can find it.

A race is hard to get because must to be interessed by the majority of players and SE . I accept your opinion because we have all different opinions on viera and its normal . Wish you lucky on searching a race you would like have

Let's not forget the Race needs to fit into the lore somehow.

From the SB trailer we see the desert, Burmecians pretty much live there (don't wanna spoil for those who don't know anything about Burmecian), i did a quick research bout Viera and they seem to live in the wood (what did i expect for rabbits).

Either way i doubt we're getting a new race.

Burmecians come from Burmecia which is nothing but the city of eternal rain in Final Fantasy IX, eternal rain cannot exist in the desert easily and what you may refer to as Burmecians living in the desert are no more than the ones that fled their country because of war!...

Freya and her people could well find a home in Eureka but honestly, "Burmecians" are not a pretty race and I wouldn't want to play them, they are more animal-looking than humanoids, like the Kobolds so it's a big NO for me!...

Viera are the way to go, there are even two clans for them already, the Elezen-tall ones and the short & cute ones!...

Yes because Roe are the most attractive race in FFXIV and yet they're there and people play them.

Also if you think Miqote are pretty by default you're nuts, you realize that races are ADAPTED to fit the audience, otherwise Miqote would just be a Humanoid with a lot of fur, tail and cat ears.

Instead they're humans with cats ears and tails, the same way they adapted Miqote they can adapt Burmecian.

I agree with there being enough pretty races and while I wouldn't mind Viera I'd rather see something less humanoid (Not Burmecians though. I never had an interest in playing rats).

But Sigma still has a point. You argue that the desert dweller Burmecians fit into the Gyr Abania's deserts better than the forest dwelling Viera. But Burmecians don't normally live in deserts unless they are forced to. So by this logic we could totally have Viera in the desert if war forces them out of their home. Or we could have freaking polar bear people in Gyr Abania if the Garleans brought them along to work in mines or something.

Gyr Abania isn't all desert, either. The preview showed swamps, grasslands, steppes... it's possible that desert-y area is just one portion of Gyr Abania.

Also there's like, aaaaaaaallllll of neighboring Ilsabard that a new race could be from.
