If it takes them 6 months to create new gear then they are not being very efficient about it, they probably just work a few minutes per day on each gear piece and that's why it takes them so long to finish!...

Just stop using dumb excuses to defend them, we want more character customization and better models like the original ones in 1.0, SE must prioritize that because it's more important to keep us satisfied than not!...

Once SE has restored 1.0 models and implemented additional sliders they can move on to less important things, our looks are the first thing we see on screen, they must make it better!...

That is a baseless assumption. We do not know exactly how the process works. I am sure if there was a faster and more efficient method, I am sure they would do it. It isn't they draw something on paper and it magically programs itself into the game. You have no argument to make here because you are not a developer. What we do know and what is a fact because it came from Yoshi-P himself that said the design team is always working hard to get gear out that takes roughly 6 months to process.

If you want more less creative reskinned gear because you need a bigger butt, then by all means keep sending your requests in.

SE has a history of hiding behind odd excuses that don't make sense given they bring in a good chunk of change from this game. Since PS3 support is going away, better textures and an overall upgrade wouldn't be out of the question. (Heck, a friend told me they may still be running on 1.0 hardware for their backend. Don't know if this is true but... Come'on.)

If they need some more people on-board the design team, bring them on. I doubt there is a lack of talent, you can only hide behind "the team is small" for so long.

And unless they utterly scrapped 1.0 and deleted EVERYTHING, the models (and maybe the better textures? Never played 1.0).

seeing as they do not want to venture too far off from the generic hyur + something feature for a new race, i'd rather we get better character customization and updated textures than a new race in 4.0

this is also what i've seem to notice about them.. they always have a reason to delay things

i doubt they'd delete the hi-res textures, most likely they've just archived them. and it's not like they create lowres textures and implement it right away. usually when you make textures for models you make it HD/UHD/high resolution first then downscale it for the platform or system it's going to be used on.

armors and what not already stretch with height and chest adjustment etc. so i doubt there's much to edit

THAT is why we had the Bahamut destroying everything ending because they were literally restarting from zero. Everything was also a lot less optimized and used a lot more polygons which is why it ran like crap on mid-range machines.

Due to all this, I very highly doubt they kept the backend of 1.0. It would simply not be compatible anymore to the 2.0 archetype/engine.

Here is an example of what I was talking about:

No I do believe you don't understand. The design team doesn't simply make new gear and that is that. They also have to go back and redesign gear for new races and jobs. They also have to take in unique requests the community gives like letting males wear bunny suits. Also have to make a wide variety of new designs for the upcoming expansion. This is on top of making sure they meet deadlines for the 3-4 month patch cycles. I don't want to believe you are this close minded on the process.

It isn't PS3 limitations on why you don't have 1.0 proportions. It isn't a memory issue, it is simply a design aspect. Design team has openly said that to ease the already straining development process to get these new pieces done, they had to alter character models from their 1.0 counterpart. They need to make the gear not only for right now, but go back to these pieces when new jobs and races come out. Not even that, most of 1.0's gear were just recolor and reskins. People can't make the argument that 1.0 did it when the only gear that wasn't reskinned was Darklight and Job AF gear and even then I am willing to bet it took forever.

Simply just adding people doesn't make it all better either. They still have their priorities and systems in place for a reason.

It is sad that people think the issue is just black and white and don't even attempt to remotely understand the process.

One of this game's biggest appeal is it's glamour system mostly to the casual playerbase. It wouldn't be a wise choice to switch over to this formula. Value of glamour in this game is higher than your standard MMO.

Just to add to this. Not every concept ever drawn up makes it instantly, or if even at all. A design is made and it has to be seen if rigging it actually works. Does it model well for every character body type? Does it mesh well, or is the clipping outrageous? Errors slip through the cracks here and there, if anyone remembers that one circus outfit for casters and played a cat can remember they must have screwed up that tail. But typically if something isn't working out, adjustments in the design need to be made. It can sometimes be a repeated process.

If every little concept was pushed through and made, with unfocused haste, it'd look bad.

Yeah but until Yoshida comments on this..I am still going to support wanting 1.0 characters back, or more customization at the very least ^^ Ultimately he will say yes/no and explain why..because this is quite the popular topic, even if he doesn't...well, at least we tried.
