Four attempts at levelling roulette tonight for my Singing Cluster quest:

1) Copperbell Hard Mode with a NIN in level 30 STR, MND, INT, MND and STR accessories, in that order. Nope nope nope nope nope nope 30 minute hit
2) Great Gooby Library: AST d/cs the second the circle drops. Comes back two minutes later and then drops immediately.
3) Stone Vigil: My most hated dungeon ever. Was willing to stick it out until the healer and BLM start a vote dismiss on the MCH for no real reason. MCH kicked, party leaves.
4) Dusk Vigil: Another DPS in wtf gear. "It's just a dungeon, just carry him" - nope nope nope nope nope nope this is why we can't have nice things

My question is how did your party manage to recover from the 22k raid-wide damage that comes with it? And 4 times, at that? o_O

Yeah, A9 normal. Not that I even know the point of the damage down debuffs. They last for long enough that you're going to run into another set of adds while still crippled. At that point you may as well just let it go.

It took 3 days to finally get a party together to try going beyond floor 100 in PotD. It took 2-3 hours to go from floor 50 to 100 because of super low upgrades.
Not even gonna start on the part where I said at least decent upgrades are a must (yet the highest upgrade they had when we reached 100 was 35 or something like that..making it obvious with what they had joined).

When we hit 100, my party used up all pots in a "victory celebration" while I was flipping out about how we REALLY need those from now on but was too slow in typing before they were mostly all gone.

So I explain explicity that nope, wipes still not allowed because otherwise it is straight back to the start at floor 50.
What is our tank's amazing idea once we hit floor 104?
Pulling about 30 monsters together, telling the MCH to LB them.
My mind is screaming "OMG NO don't do stupid risky sh*t when it isn't necessary, do you realize how much progress we will lose if this goes wrong?!
ALSO, it will definitely go wrong, because that LB is gonna be weak as hell with those 25-35 weapons!"
yet again, my fingers were not fast enough, so by the time I had screamed "NOOO", the 30 monsters were already pulled and we were all dead.
(and yes, LB didn't even take half of their health).
We got kicked out, and party lead was like "Whoa, that sucks, we can't re-enter!" - proving that even when I manage to write stuff in time, nobody reads it anyway, appearently .___.

While finishing up my relic I encountered countless terrible healers, but I just want to mention one example I met in The Vault: Level 60 WHM, almost full ilvl230 - except one ring (level 55 dungeon drop) and... the weapon. Atma-Thyrus. Nope, not joking. Asked him to change it twice... only healing with Cure II and Medica II, constantly running oom, I even waited after bosses for his MP to recover. Since it was his only level 60 character I shudder, thinking about how he might have farmed the tomes for his gear using his Atma-Thyrus in level 60 content...

I ran into a Dragoon back when Lost City HM was current who was using his i110 relic to see if the dungeons counted for the relic purposes (Hint: No.) and he wouldn't change it even when we told him.

ALSO, it will definitely go wrong, because that LB is gonna be weak as hell with those 25-35 weapons!

Thought LB was fixed damage, not dependant on buffs/ilvl/aetherpool >_>
Granted it will be crappy damage, but not because of their 25-35 weapons but because of one filled bar, no?

LB damage depends on the kind of LB (Melee/Ranged/Mage) and the ilvl of the weapons in the party. Not sure but I think the ilvl of the user counts with an additional multiplier.

Aetherpool Level is a kind of abstract ilvl.

Alrighty, so I believe this will be my first post in this thread...

Dungeon: Pharos Sirius (hard)
Team: Dark Knight (FC buddy), Black Mage (me), Ninja, and Scholar.

Dungeon started off with tank saying hello and asking how everyone was doing, scholar instantly replied saying that was a retarded question to ask. Turns out he was sour about the election (which who really isn't right now) and him and the other two begin talking about Trump a little bit. No problems aside from that initial rudeness that nobody else seemed to mind. The comes the first boss. His fairy, other dps, and I all die. After a little while he doesn't attempt to raise either of us or bring out his fairy so the ninja begins to question, turns out he's doing a nuzlocke run and whomever becomes dead stays dead. Eventually he brings out Selene and he and the tank finish off the boss; good for them.


If he had said in the beginning of the dungeon that he was planning on doing a nuzlocke run that would have been one thing and I probably would have had more patience, but boooy did it get under my skin. Alot. Which is stupid because this is just a game. But it then explained why I wasn't getting healed during the boss battle because I wasn't staying super close and didn't think about his fairy, thus no automatic heals which was how he was healing us. He then makes a snip about if we're good dps we wouldn't need any heals. Which I swiftly replied with a sarcastic: sorry, didn't know being a healer meant not healing. As you can imagine it fired me up more and didn't make him happy. Especially when I did a Vote Dismiss and it didn't go through because the tank was being impassive and he hadn't pissed the other dps yet. He continues with his rudeness and finally the other dps makes a comment against him that made me love her-- honestly planned on giving her my comm. Since it seemed like she was on my side at that point I tried to do another vote dismiss but in my red clouded vision, I accidentally clicked her name and sent a vote dismiss for her. It was at that point that I knew I needed to back away from the game so I just dismissed myself and shut down the game. Because it's just a game, I shouldn't get upset despite it being hard not to, especially with my anxiety really acting up because of this incident. >_>

By chance the Ninja happens to see this, I assure you that I didn't mean to do the Vote Dismiss against you! And I hope it didn't go through and that the scholar didn't say any other rude stuff towards you.

TLDR; Rude Scholar wouldn't heal and kept making butthead comments making me wish I had taken screenshots. Dismissed myself due to bad anxiety.

The effect one man can have on the world...

The first 3 healers I met in DF today were all SCHs. I feel like one of them may have been the exact same SCH, except maybe slightly less angry. Believe me, even non-Americans who have never set a foot on U.S. soil are unhappy about the results.

In other news, today's Expert Roulette dropped me into Gubal HM. The entire party was largely distracted by chatting (read: complaining about the election and discussing Japanese media) and eating, so we ended up with messes like the healer and tank dying on bosses.

At Strix, the DRK popped Living Dead to survive the meteor, but the SCH couldn't heal them enough in time, so they ended up eating the floor. The MNK was generous enough to hold the boss while the SCH got the DRK back up, but then the SCH D/Ced.

So our DRK was left to hold on for as long as they could, until they finally died again and the MNK took over. Still without SCH. Pulling out all the stops, we burned and burned, until the MNK ate two attacks and died.

So it's just squishy little BLM me against Strix at 1%. I hit him with Fire IV. He's still at 1%.

I started channeling another Fire IV. Can I do it? CAN I KILL HIM BEFORE HE KILLS ME?

I finish the cast. He's dead, just as the SCH returns. It's been a while since I've done something like that.

Ravana Extreme Run. I went in as Scholar, got a WHM cohealer who's dying to every mechanic (myself and the summoner raising her alternately). I LB3'd when Ravana has roughly 25%-ish. We still wipe.

Second try. I LB3 again around 20%ish. Wipe.

Third try. I still have to LB3. We still wiped.

Fourth Try. Yay LB3. Half the party dropped dead including WHM. We somehow managed to beat Ravana with 4 people. I never felt so much panic before. I mean I farmed his bird with a SCH but it was never this bad out of the 70 runs I slapped Ravana in EX.

Errr no.
LB depends on the role and bars/tiers filled. A naked monk lvl 60 will do the same damage as an ilvl 245 dragoon. LB has its own potency that cannot be enhanced further.
