Housing Ideas and Feature Requests

Hey, I've been wanting portraits. I think it would be really cool if there was a system in place where one could create a picture for one's house or apartment, where we could use something like a character creation process to select a model and features (and maybe costumes), and then save it as a portrait that we could then hang on a wall. I can't imagine it would use any more resources than a retainer standing around in one's room. Imagine pictures of each of your alts, or a guild hall with big portraits of each of the leaders over the years on the walls.

As much as I'd love to have this function, which has similar ideas been suggested before, it's not quite likely to be implemented because there will be far too much work for SE to vet through each and every player-created portrait to ensure there's no obscene content slipping through.

Once again, I'm in support of this suggestion but I do understand why it's not quite likely to ever be implemented with all the 101 housing restrictions we have (and I'm not even talking about technology/implementation/resources restrictions).

Oh yeah, I get that screenshots or player uploaded content would be way too much to manage, that's why it would be all in-game like the character creation screen, or using the hairdresser guy. If it's the same character creation stuff they already have in game, this would prevent people from doing obscene or otherwise inappropriate stuff. You'd just pick full body or bust, select the face and hair and coloring and other stuff like you're creating a new character, and bingo presto, a new picture to hang on a wall.

Not sure if you saw the new update but you're getting your wish. Npc artists will be making a wide variety of paintings and you will have a wider selections based on your sightseeing log.
