I am surprised it took till page 9 for someone to mention that FFXIV has already had an achievement system. you get a quick message you rarely notice in game of achieving it but look up your character on lodestone and all your achievements are there for all to see... too add 300 more is a pretty cool idea considering ALL the new content coming in.

So having people access content on their own time is a bad thing? Certainly helps out the 'dead' servers and those 'casual' players that people hate so much on the forums.

    Achievement system
Hey Dr. Derp we already have this... achievements are on the lodestone right now just not tracked in game. How does this make the game worse in any way?

    In-game addons
Oh man add-ons this completely ruins the game, WoW clone omg end of days! Customizing the game and having useful things and player added mods is going to be cool. Not sure how this ruins the game either...

    Auction house
Market wards are a hassle, we all know this. They function, that's for sure but are not ideal in any way shape or form. I'm glad to see an AH and guess what this was in many games before WoW, f*ck even FFXI had an AH. How does this ruin the game... this game isn't "Buy and Sell Money Madness XIV" it's Final Fantasy XIV; the game isn't centered around Market Wards or AH.

    Instanced raids
Ok? We already have them, FFXI had them, WoW has them, most games have them. It allows them to create a unique area and add a ton of design elements. I just don't understand why this is bad. What do you want?

    Crowd control system
Last time I checked WoW hardly utilizes the CC system and you just zerg aoe everything down. That's one reason I stopped playing that game.

    Multiple mount types
So variety is bad? I don't get how this ruins the game or makes it a WoW clone. Though I guess it would be unique if we only had 1 mount type. Heck even FFXI had different color chocobo's, so I don't understand your gripe with this.

I'm not a huge fanboi and I'm certainly excited, I'd like to understand how you feel this is "bad" for the game other than your response "this es W0W cl0nE".

The forums certainly do, considering the kind of replies the OP received. Playerbase (the most vocal part of it) becomes more and more WoWish-like.

When one writes something absolutely and utterly silly, it's hard to expect serious replies.

I do not understand this why? You rather wait for a party for hours like ff11? You rather have to choose from a server with a couple thousand then all servers with tens of thousands? Why do you want to seek a party for hours then get a party fast?

FF11 killed everything. this is nuthin but win. Please tell me why this is bad other then it being like WoW. People will try to steal stuff even on the same server. Different servers will not change that.
    makes ZERO sense.

So the people replying to utterly silly en retarded posts are the bad guys, but people rage quitting about some announcement are not? Nice logic you got going there.

Yes, I agree the forums are just like WoW forums, mainly because of the /cry topics of people that act like they are 3 years old that just dropped their candy.

    its just WAY too much

besides the UI and the wordless dungeon finder though this is definitely intriguing
I imagine you will be able to turn off character health bars above their head, most of what you mentioned is already in the game.

We have a micro-menu, we have a mini map, we have party menu whilst grouped up, im guessing the grid in the bottom right corner is inventory space.

I won't be surprised if they give us full control over the elements we can display and remove, they are adding addons so i imagine we can customise it however we want.

ITT the OP confuses advances in the GENRE of MMORPG to "copying WoW and other MMOs".

Sorry buddy I just don't have much sympathy atm given your reasoning.

So adding dozens of modern-mmo systems to the game is somehow bad?

Things like dungeon finder and achievements are systems which serve to make the game more robust and enjoyable. They're both completely optional - adding these to FFXIV literally can ONLY enhance your experience. Why are you bitching about them revamping the game and adding features which are obviously useful and desired? v2.0 is everything this game needs to be success.
