So numerous people observe that the Lady in Red matches the Monk's abilities towards the end of the video. And instead of this being more and more evidence of Monk, she now is able to mimic other jobs because that is what Dancer does instead of you know, dance?

Watched the video again and it's more than clear that we seeing a Dancer with Martial Arts moves. Specially her intro.

This girl is as much as a "dancer" (i.e. the well known FF Job "dancer", which utilizes Dances for different status effects, also likely with their reccurring signature attack ability "Sword Dance/Blade Dance/Saber Dance/Quiver Sword") as any given gold Saucer NPC is a "gambler" (i.e. the well known FF job "gambler", which battle abilities consist of random effects that are extremely powerful when successful, but detrimental if unsuccessful and a recurring signature attack ability called "Slots").

Some of her moves do indeed, HINT a dancer.

A good theory I saw was the people of ala mihgo created the dancing style to hide their martial arts training under the garlean rule.

Now that's a very interesting story I could get behind.
But for the most part, she does look like a Monk with a tinge of dancer perhaps as a hint.
I might rule out this lady is not Yda, why would they suddenly mention Yda having a sister out of the blue?
This could be her sister being a Monk AND something else. It could very well be a mix, just like Bard being supportive DPS thing.
But that would rule out Dancer being a healer, and a support melee DPS which would probably upset a lot of people
since most people want either RDM/SAM as a DPS. So we're back at fighting slots there. So it's kinda hard to pick and choose right now.
I hope she's NOT a dancer only because I want Dancer to be a healer, she ain't healing no one with that one punch down below.
Unless DNC is a tank, SAM is a DPS, and RDM a healer, which I pray it not...but who knows? The only thing we're missing in question is a healer job.
Samurai and Red Mage have already been hinted (mostly RDM), we should get more hints in the other 2 Fan Fests.
We can't infer much on like a 2 minute video. :/

To me, it looks like a CGI version of Fists Of Wind...with a different color. But since WoL's Fists of Fire also have an abnormal color, that's not a big deal.

I'm not saying she is a dancer but the only class in all FF games that used CLOTH as a weapon was Dancer. FFT Dancers to be more exact: "A warrior who dances across the battlefield, garbed in colorful raiments".


I'd really like her to be a new class, but no one can say for sure.

Yeah, even if she is a dancer and dancers are a type of martial artist in FF14, that is no guarantee that Dancer will be added to the game as a playable class right now. We have numerous examples of classes that NPC's could be before we could play them.

I am guessing that Sam will be a tank class this time around, for no other reason than it would almost single-handedly solve the lack of tanks and queue time problems the game is suffering from right now. That kind of silver bullet solution would be very appealing to the devs.

Anyway, let's consider this for a moment, the Girl in the Trailer is Garlean.

Garleans seem to use a mix of Jobs instead of just one.

Let's take a look at Livia:

Livia is shown to be highly proficient at hand-to-hand combat, her weapon of choice being a pair of gunbaghnakhs. She incorporates both rapid and powerful punches along with swift kicks and gunshots into her fighting style. She is also shown to be proficient at piloting magitek armor.

Mix of Two Jobs, so it might be that the Girl in the Trailer is a Garlean and a mix of Monk and Dancer? It would explain the Monk skills used along with the Cloth Slashes.
