I won't respond to certain other posts for the sake of bringing this to a close (though part of me is a little frustrated that there's always one person pushing for this particular topic to be quickly closed for their own convenience, I don't want arguing to inhibit anyone else's usage of this thread), but it's been heartening reading the replies from guys who saw the conversation for what it was and understood, so thank you.

I'd like to post here myself when the atmosphere feels a little less uncomfortable (or perhaps I'll make the friend thread after all, heheheh.)
