classic FFXI-HD remake would destroy this game

[Argh]

-the diverse and captivating open world

-the meaningfull death penalty

-the journey of leveling your character

-the progression and exploration of camp and pull zones

-the classic jobs that molded and hardened you

-the feeling of accomplishment and uniqueness

-the dangerous mobs at critical moments

-the auction house trade hubs

-the bonding and drama of it's party system

-the engaging transportation system

-the believable travel system

-the starting cities and feeling of belongingness

-the sense of gratitude


we got none of this in FFXIV. the game is a cesspool of freebies which catapults you to pseudo-end game through various mindless means and immersion-breaking mechanics.

one year after the launch they are still trying to tinker with their broken formula.....

The "journey of leveling" from FFXI - aka trying to form a group for 2 hours unsuccessfully is enough to make this game not succeed. The player needs to gain subscribers, and that was one of the biggest blocks to the subscriber base in FFXI.

FFXI had it's quirks, and as a MMO today probably wouldn't stand up to snuff. It's not like current FFXI is roping in new subscribers is it?
