Yes, the way I flaunt my Chinese dress and Collector's edition mounts...except I don't flaunt them, I use them, sometimes, and sometimes not. Like everything else. Flaunting is very much in the eye of the beholder. A person wearing a $100,000 diamond ring is not flaunting it simply because you want it and can't have it. They're just wearing something that they have. The problem is not them flaunting the ring, it's more about the envy and jealousy you have in your heart over something that another person has.
P.S. I must also add that I feel that tug sometimes too for things I can't afford. I'm not sure how long it took me to learn this lesson, and it's not a perfect lesson since I can still feel that tug. but I know what it is, and I can put it into perspective.

Wasn't it explicitly stated that they rolled a significant portion of the profit from the game back into the servers and development for 4.0? Seems like the cash shop is part of that profit, so when we're all enjoying expanded inventory, perhaps we need to thank those who do spend more than others on the game in general? And people also forget our sub pays for patch content, which does include mounts, minions and glamour. They also assume if it wasn't for the cash shop, all this stuff would be in the game. Like DLC, that wouldn't be the case. We simply wouldn't get it at all. DLC/Cash shops/online stores are how publishers offset the rapidly increasing costs to develop games nowadays.**snip** Some will pay for bonus content or collectibles, others won't. If you dislike a price, don't buy it. I really wanted the Chinese outfit, but still haven't felt it worth $18 ($24 Canadian). So I skipped out of it for now.
Yes at Fan Fest they said they were putting more money into the game from profits. I personally think a lot of the game's profits were going into anything related to ff15 for a time.Wasn't it explicitly stated that they rolled a significant portion of the profit from the game back into the servers and development for 4.0? Yes, they did. They're going to be using part of the game's profits specifically for infrastructure upgrades - the hardware and server teams will get the toys needed to figure out a way to give us the "significant inventory expansion" they promised us in 4.0.
I agree, SE was sucking the money up from XIV and using it for other departments. Which.... to be fair, SE did take a huge hit with the loss of 1.0 and gambled with Yoshi P on the 2.0 remake. So they had that right. Maybe that debt is finally paid off and they can actually keep some of the extra money for themselves again.
you can't play the game anymore unless you get this emote?
Yeah, I think it is shocking to complain about this if he paid for the livestream. :PAnd who knows maybe in time the emote will become available to purchase on its own, we just have to wait and see. Patience is a virtue. As for the OP making a big fuss about it and making other threads about "complaining players" and yet managing to pay for the live-stream... really that in itself is shocking. >_>
Learn, explore, and think for yourself. Make your choices, take actions, and let yourself be free.
I do wonder if cash shop profit goes directly to FF 14 dev team, while FF14 sale and subs go to SE where they then give the team a set budget? Since they did say that it was thanks to cash shop profits that they were able to get EU servers.
