It's not even that impressive. Your character does the circular weapon spin of Zantetsuken then Odin's symbol appears and your character cuts it in half anime-style. It's neat, but hardly worth getting upset over. Me? I bought the statue for the statue.

Yes, they did. They're going to be using part of the game's profits specifically for infrastructure upgrades - the hardware and server teams will get the toys needed to figure out a way to give us the "significant inventory expansion" they promised us in 4.0.
I agree, SE was sucking the money up from XIV and using it for other departments. Which.... to be fair, SE did take a huge hit with the loss of 1.0 and gambled with Yoshi P on the 2.0 remake. So they had that right. Maybe that debt is finally paid off and they can actually keep some of the extra money for themselves again.
you can't play the game anymore unless you get this emote?

I do wonder if cash shop profit goes directly to FF 14 dev team, while FF14 sale and subs go to SE where they then give the team a set budget? Since they did say that it was thanks to cash shop profits that they were able to get EU servers.

Yeah, but we also had to cut a dungeon from ex roulette and hear "we don't have resources for this" very often.

*cough* FFXV development * cough*
Another fusion between 2 companies if this game fails ? Waiting for it !

*cough KH2.8 and FF7 Remake * I was kinda laughing when they said "we'll take some of the profits and put it back into stormblood" during the fanfest. But hopefully with the release of FFXV in Nov 26 I genuinely hope to see better things.

Yoshi announced at Fanfest more money from the Cash Shop is going to start going back into XIV.
