it's pointless to learn and play BRD from 30-50 since WM is a thing. making people learn BLM without Enochian, SMN without Dreadwyrm Trance, DRG without BotD are all really wasteful.
It is excessive.. 50 is seriously 20 levels off from main, do you really think that will make sense? Be glad it's even 30, the goal is to ease you into the job so you get a feel of it's ability. This is why back in the day people who leveled only by fates were ususally quite bad at their jobs, because they took a huge shortcut. and did not actually LEARN it.

They sure have but that doesn't mean I can't be upset about it!

so there shouldn't be FATEs at all and Hunt bills shouldn't give XP? and you're making a bold claim that people now are not bad at their jobs.

If accessing the jobs requires level 60 and HW completion, they should start at 50 or 60. If they are open to anyone starting a fresh character, start at level 1.

Start us at level one and give us repeatable quests non-instanced dungeons and expanded hunt log other options to level besides what we have now.

They should start at 60 because going back and doing all the old content and expansions isn't fun.

and you just put words in my mouth, wasn't at all what i was claiming, You really should learn reading comprehension.

Since it's a little hard for you, let me dumb it down a bit, When people pick the "fastest way" to level, they don't really learn the jobs. FATES were very quick way to level, but people lacked understanding of the jobs they were playing since they lacked actual experience getting those levels. I hope that wasn't to difficult.

In other words: it's close to someone coming on a game, 1st day and instant level 60, then someone tells them, "go raid"

30 makes the most sense to me. Levels 1-30 are typically incredibly boring as you acquire the very basic skills to do your job. It's not bad to learn 20 skills at once and start working on how to utilize them together rather than starting with 1 skill that you spam until you have 2 skills which you spam until you have 3 skills etc. etc.

It also makes more sense to me from a lore and general perspective. For lore, the job crystals bestow knowledge of previous job users upon you, it's safe to assume these previous users of the crystal amassed enough skill to be able to execute at least 20 job related skills. From a general perspective, as the Warrior of Light I may be most comfortable with an axe (insert other weapon/magic here) but that knowledge doesn't just disappear just because I pick up a Great Sword. I may not be as comfortable with it as the axe but I still have thousand of hours of combat experience and undoubtedly a general knowledge of different martial (physical and magical) systems from journeying with others. I wouldn't, all of a sudden, struggle to slay a bunny just because I was unfamiliar with the weapon as my body would still be very accustomed to combat. So in this regard, I think returning us to level 1 makes less sense than 30.

If you start them at 50 or 60 then they should be gated. If you start them at 30 then they should be available in ARR areas

I feel the new classes should start at level 1.

We were told that restricting access to the expansion to new people was a mistake, and that they wouldn't do that again with this expansion. In Heavensward, you already had to have a level 50 class in order to pick up one of the new jobs. If people can get to (or even start in) Mor Dhona, then the new classes can't be started at level 30.

Did everybody forget about Ninja? They started at level 1 as rogues.
