So they want less exp rewards?
Have you ever played, literally any other MMO on the market?
>New area is here.
>Anyone can go in that area regardless of MSQ done.
That simple. I think I've seen like 2 mmos where you had to do 1 or 3 extremely short quests to gain access to the new area. Not hundreds of quests...
...and in those same MMO's the bulk of content remains irrelevant. In FFXIV, however, even older dungeons such as Satasha and Aurum Vale see a lot of activity since there's multiple reasons to run them linked to various forms of content. The people who just want to rush through everything and ignore 99% of the game aren't the target audience. Plus if they find existing content so tedious then it's unlikely that they're going to enjoy the content that exists at the end game either since all they'd be doing is running the same handful of instances over and over and over again.Have you ever played, literally any other MMO on the market?

The playerbase isn't 'dwindling'. That's just blatant nonsense. If you have any solid, unbiased sources to back up such a bold claim, though, I'm certain many people here will be interested in seeing them! You have fun with your dwindling playerbase, then. Seriously, lack of an MSQ catch-up for expacs will only hurt the playerbase in the long term, not improve. Nobody will unsub over a boost potion, but you better believe there will be people who never bother past the XIV trial because they don't like how on-rails the leveling process is.
I am saying, you will turn people off from playing this game if you roadblock them via MSQ, not that the playerbase is dwindling right NOW. I am saying that in terms of net gain vs net loss, there will be more of a net loss by locking expacs via MSQ than there would be a net loss of people who are angry over boost potions being added.

And there's things here that are irrelevant that Yoshi kills off fast. What's your point? Majority of my FC won't do anything other than 60/EX daily due to the level sync. If people don't want to do it, they won't.
Extremely false. There's so many people with largely different play styles. There's crafters here because this game has really good crafting that don't care much about the story. There's raiders here that likes to do the raids and don't care about the story and let's not forget RPers. All of which enjoys the game in their own way. Not everyone plays MMOs solely and only for the story.people who just want to rush through everything and ignore 99% of the game aren't the target audience. It's crazy that the ones saying people should be forced to do MSQs would crap their pants if anyone else (hardcores) tried to force their playstyle on them. Someone skipping MSQs is not hurting you!
It would stay the same if we're talking about skipping the MSQs only. People now skip MSQs, they don't teach you anything. Or else half the playerbase wouldn't be so terrible. I know a guy that's done 80% of the quests in this game. Dude doesn't use his job class skills nor cross skills.

Roulettes would still exist. The story would still exist. But people would be able to access the content they want WHEN they want.
I want to skip the whole crafting/gathering part of the game, because I only enjoy end-game crafting. Could I just have my BiS crafting gear done for me when I log in tomorrow? After all, it is the content I want, and tomorrow is when I want it.
Lol right. Because that's totally what people have been asking for. (It's not.)
Might as well be. People have different tastes. Some want to skip the game and do raids. Some want to ignore the story and roleplay. I want to be a super crafter, but why should any of us have to work for it? :P
